AP biometric (??) scans... I'm not ME!

My DD and I went to MGM, Epcot & MK yesterday and all three times, my biometric scan (don't know if that is what it's called!) didn't register. Does anyone actually know what it scans (more than just finger prints but not quite blood samples )?

The last time we went was before I started taking a daily prescription. Could this change my "compostition" enough to change what disney scans? If it's registering medications, what else are they getting from me?? I was told to go to guest relations if it keeps happening, but it could get ridiculous if my meds get changed or the doses increase! Anyone have input?

My Mom frequently does not pass the biometric scans. I blame it on arthritis in her hands, she probably does not hold them the same way each time. The way I understand it, it measures the bones in those 2 fingers.

You can have your measurement reset by showing ID at the turnstile and asking the cm to reset it. Then next time it will measure against that measurement rather than your original one.

I was told it reads the area between the 2 fingers, the part that actually touches up against the protruding piece of the scanner. I too have had trouble with it a couple times, and thats what the CM told me. I have also heard it definitely does not read finger prints. But who knows?

they scan fingers at sea world in Texas as well and it takes each of us about 3 or so tries to get it to work!!

The taking of or changing of medications should have no effect on it. It sounds like your ticket may need to be replaced at Guest Relations if you've already tried having the gate CM reset the biometrics and it still doesn't work.
