Has anyone managed to get an AP rate at Pop Century after it opens in December? I was told they weren't available because it's new....but we all get different information from different cm's...

There were posts when the AP rates where announced about a week ago. I saw posts saying $49/night. The code you need to use is AMI.

There's a limited amount of rooms available at these rates; so, you may be too late, now. Maybe, others will have more current info. Good Luck.

Yes, I got one at PC for $49/night for Dec. 26-Jan 1. I called at 9:15 on the day they were released and had no problem getting it.

I called the day the AP rates came out around 11AM, and was told the rate was available at both All Star Sports and Pop Century during the dates Dec. 17th-Dec. 28th for $49 a night. I stuck with the Sports since I was already booked at it. I couldn't believe I was able to get 11 nights for a total of $604 including tax!!!:)

I got the AP rate for 2 rooms at PC for 12/26 - 1/1 yesterday. I started calling the day the code came out and called back every two days until it was available. Good luck getting your discount!!

Hi,

I know that this might sound weird, but we were going to be staying at AKL for Dec 26 to Jan 3 using the AP rate. We had originally wanted to stay at Pop Century but on 8/28 we were told that there were no rooms left under the $49 AP rate, so we took AKL at 171.71 a night.

I promised my girlfriend I would keep checking, but it did not look promising. I just checked with CRO reservations agent named China 45 minutes ago and was able to get the $49 ($54.88 w/tax) rate for our entire Dec 26 to Jan 3 stay. Trust me I was very suprised that they had any left for this time.

She did seem alittle confused about why I was changing, but once I explained that you can't bet $49 a night during this time period, she agreed.

My girlfriend knows nothing about being able to get CP and she really wanted to stay at the new resort, so I am going to try and keep it from her and put the information in a wraped box and surprise her Christmas Day, since we were going to be leaving on the 26th anyways.

Breick,
I was one of the first to make reservations at PC for 12/17 and CR told me there would be no discounts because the resort was brand new. I called yesterday to change my hotel from ASM to Poly for 12/13-12/17 (because of such an awesome rate) and had them check my PC resevation for 12/17-12/22. I had it at 77.00 plus tax. Delainey said NO Problem, of course you can have the AP discount! It came down to 54.00 w/tax! Can you beat that? So I upgraded to the Poly for the first 4 days and got a great discount the last 5 days. I say there was some pixie dust sprinkled on me! I say call again!

lailah,

I am so happy to see that you were able to get what you wanted. The AP rate seemed to help alot of people get good prices.

I know that people will disagree with what I did, but we would rather spend 9 days at WDW at a brand new Pop Century, then 6 days at AKL. We will be going back next spring and can stay at AKL then, but by that time Pop Century will be 6+ months old and may start showing some minor wear to it. You can only stay at a resort that is new (ok 12 days old) only once if you know what I mean.

Breick,

Just keep trying and you will be surprised. You never know when someone has cancelled a reservation for the resort or time that you wanted to go.

Good Luck,

Keep trying...

I too wanted to get PC for an impromptu Christmas stay (our APs expire 12/24). I called the 1st day AP rates were out and could only get ASMu for our 12/18-12/26 stay. I called back every day and was told that since PC would be brand new there would be no AP rates available. Of course I knew that wasn't true since my "friends" on the DIS had been able to get the AP rate for my time frame. I called back once again last Friday (9/5) and was told that PC WAS available for my stay. The CM who was handling my call seemed VERY inexperienced and unsure. She said she could transfer my deposit and my reservation number would remain the same. I had a bad feeling after I hung up so I called back to verify my change. Sure enough, no changes had been made!! I was still staying at ASMu according to CRO. Luckily, I could still make the change transferring my deposit and getting a NEW reservation number. The CM I had this time still seemed a little unsure of himself, so once agian I called back to verify all my changes. I breathed a huge sigh of relief when everything was confirmed including the 5 day cancellation policy and no penalty to make changes (I made need to drop a day at the beginning depending on how strict my son's school is about him missing a day). We just got back from a VB/WDW trip 6 weeks ago, with a DCL/WDW trip planned for next June, but those AP rates are calling our name!! We are DVC members, but not even the lowest points can beat $49/night in a brand new resort!! The moral of the story, keep trying for those PC AP rates, they CAN be found!!!

I got Pop Century at the AP rate of $49 a night plus tax for the night of December 20. We wanted to add a night on to our honeymoon, and we thought it would be neat to try out such a new resort. :)
