AP and MVMCP question

I want to purchase an annual pass and tickets to MVMCP.

I know there is an AP discount for AP holders. We are not going till Dec. 3. How do I go about getting an AP that isn't activated untill 12/3, but still get the AP discount for MVMCP on 12/8?

I would call Disney, and mention that you have purchased an annual pass so that they can give you the discount for MVMCP. Unfortunately, the discount only applies to MVMCP on certain nites--11-29, 12-1, 12-4 and 12-13. It makes it harder to figure out which nite you want to go.

you can purchase your annual passes at any of the guest relations windows usually found right outside the parks and I think possibly inside also. Right now, there is a very nice DVC discount for annual passes. We just bought them and with the discount, paid less for the AP than we would have for a length of stay pass.

As long as you have an active AP when you pick up your MVMCP tickets, you can get the discount.

I am going to both MNSSHP and MVMCP but was only able to get the discount on the MVMCP because my AP won't be activated for MNSSHP (doing the free dining package) but will be activated for MVMCP.

They told me (2 different CMs) that I must do will call and show my AP to get the AP discount when I pick up the discounted party tickets.

So you shouldn't have a problem since you will have an activated AP when you go to the party.

Buy them now and show your AP when you pick them up.

Hmmmm... maybe I'm missing something here ... I was able to purchase my MVMCP tix online with the discount. I didn't have to call or use "will call."

I was signed in on the AP site using my AP voucher number (won't be activated until late Nov). I was able to buy MVMCP tix for one of the discounted dates online. The site stated they would mail them out in August.

Here is what it said,
"Passholders save 25% when you buy tickets online for select nights of this one-of-a-kind party that includes everything you love about Christmas amidst the fun and fantasy of the Magic Kingdom®."

32.95 plus tax age 10+
25.95 Plus tax age 3-9

Granted I have to pay $3 shipping, but I still thought it was worth it.. right?

That's great for you that you found a way. I did it over the phone and was told I had to do will call to show my AP. Lucky you.

Thanks for letting me know I did do the right thing. Being an AP newbie, for a minute there, I thought maybe I wasn't getting the discount since I didn't choose "will call"...lol... so I wanted to make sure.
