We renewed our APs in August 2013 and used them that entire trip without a problem. We went back in February 2014. Our APs were linked to our MBs. All four MB arrived together. The first day we went to Epcot and DHs MB did not get a green light, but they waved us through Next day same thing at HS, but they sent us to Guest Relations. After about 30 minutes they said it was fixed. Next day at MK , it didn't work again. A CM with an iPad came over to help us. We were very frustrated at this point because we arrive early to hit the big rides, not to spend every morning to get a MB fixed. This gentleman was very rude basically told us we were wrong, that if it has been a problem at the other parks it would have already been fixed. He looked at my DHs license and AP and said it was fixed after about 20 minutes. We didn't have anymore problems with it the rest of the trip.

A while ago we received new MBs because we are AP holders. DHs arrived in a different box then mine and the kids, where the original set arrived all together. When I look on MDE it now says DHs MB expires 5 days before the rest of ours. I emailed Disney and they gave me a number to call. The guy I spoke to when I called was very nice, but told me it had to be fixed in person. He said he submitted a request to change DHs expiration date to match the others and I will have to go to GR in August and ask them if it can be done.

Has anyone had anything like this happen? We plan on being there right up to the expiration date so it really matters. I didn't save the original receipt to prove we bought them all together, but I do have the credit card bill showing the the charge which equals the amount of four APs. I just feel like we spent so much time trying to fix this and now we have to spend more fine fixing it in August. I am so frustrated!

There is a whole thread on the MB problems. Not just with AP but in general. Cant you just use your regular AP that you have or once you have the MB (that I will never get) can you only use that. They seem much more trouble than they are worth.

It's the 'no pixie dust I hate MB' thread just below. Sorry, I don't know how to post the link!

The AP expiration date is changed so it will be the same on the card and the band. Just curious if anyone else had this happen and knows if they will correct the date or give me a problem. You are right about more trouble when they are worth. When something hoes wrong it seems to be hard to fix.

Yes, exactly. It was much better back in the day of paper tickets. You knew exactly what was remaining and if you had a valid ticket. To be honest I think we had more fun back then as well. Back early on we used to purchase say a 5 day ticket. Disney used to allow and even tell you (that's how we first found out) that you could upgrade your ticket to an AP as long as you returned within a year of the first stamp! Yes, it expired a year from then but the cost difference was less than buying another 5 day. Plus, living a distance, no problem if you weren't able to return. no loss on purchasing an AP and not realizing a good value. Anyway, I do not like the MB and will just use my current AP with ID. I'm actually sick of the biometrics anyway. I often had a problem with the 2 finger grip as well as the finger type. Now none for me just ID and enter. If there comes a day when only biometric, I will not return. I know sounds harsh, I'm just tired of all the tracking etc going on everywhere!

It seemed there were problems with AP expiration dates before there were magic bands.

Yes there were, but at least it was printed on the ticket. We had a problem with the wrong date coming up when we had our AP issued in 2010, but back then you could SEE the date on the ticket and any error at least. Our AP issued last fall-only says 2013-2014 ! Who knows what problems we may have upon return. I see no reason why the date can't be still on them. WDW is creating problems for themselves and their guests that they don't have to have! Stupid I think. Hope we don't have more problems with our hard tickets. I never recall issues before all the unknown dates now on ticket media.

The card I got with my band a couple of months ago had the full date printed - expires 11/10/2014.

Was it a regular AP? We got ours in Oct. 2013 and it just had the year range and and parking good for the same time yr. range! no issue or expiration date. We did not get MB so either they changed it again due to issues or I can't explain but I just looked at my AP and that was it.

Right now I have my AP voucher attached to my MDE account. When I arrive on July 27th to activate my AP, do I ask them to unlink it to my MDE account if I don't want it on my Magic Band? I plan to get TIW card, as well and wondering how all this works if it's on MB. I don't have a problem carrying around AP card, TWI card, & ID if it helps alleviate issues. Any advice is appreciated, as this is my first experience with AP & MB.

It was a PAP. When I originally activated it in November 2013, it did not have a date but the one I got in May with the AP band did. So they are working to fix it.

ok, makes sense. Thanks. You don't have to get the MB right? I really want no part of that.

My son has the TIW card and it wasn't linked to his. That was in Oct and Jan who knows what it is now though. another month or so and he will see as well.

The APs we got in August 2013 have a spot for an expiration date, but the CM handed me a pen and made me fill it in all four. So, yes, our APs have an expiration date of August 19, 2014 written on all four, but in my handwriting. We have had previous APs where it was printed on the back. It is just aggrevating because they were all correct for our first trip so I don't know how it all got changed during our second trip and I don't understand how in today's age of computers it can't be fixed without me going to Guest Relations again.

The gold discount card that comes with the APs has an expiration date printed on it. Those were issued after our February trip though so they have the wrong the date on my DHs card.

We didn't get the gold card. Did you get it in Aug or the next trip? Thanks Never mind missed last sentence!

They mailed the gold card along with another set of MBs in March or April. I thought they mailed them to all AP holders at the time. The gold card is to show when you make a purchase to get the AP discount.

Oops just saw your last sentence!
