AP and Magic Band Question

Not really sure where to post this. I am an AP holder and want to buy a magic band as a gift for my cousin. She loves the new Cinderella/Happily Never After band that is on pre-sale for $20. Since I am an AP, I can buy the band, my question is, will it be assigned to my account or can I assign it when I receive it? I do not have an on-site trip planned as of now, so it wouldn’t be tied to a hotel reservation. Has anyone been able to do this? Thanks!

Sorry, if you buy it via your AP link, it will automatically be assigned to you and can’t be transferred. The only way to buy a discounted MB for her would be if she were listed on a WDW resort reservation. AFAIK, the only way to buy for her otherwise will be to order from ShopDisney.com.
