AP and FP+…Ready to panic

I apologize if this isn't the right place.

We had reservations with 3 day park tickets for this August. HAD being the key word. After pondering for weeks, we decided to splurge and buy AP's this year, since we would like to go at Christmas and for a full week next summer. We can buy them at a discount through DOD. So, this morning, we switched our reservation to room only with the AP discount. Our plan is to buy the vouchers through work and activate them in August, which would start our year at that time.

Anyway, our 60 day mark for when we could get our FP+ is next Wednesday. After making the reservation switch, my TA tells me we can't get our FP+ early since we don't have a ticket number. We're going in summer, so the advance planning is essential.

Is there any way around this? I didn't realize that by paying more for an AP, I was ruining our chances of getting FP+ ahead of time:(. This is the only year getting an AP has ever been an option, and I was so excited about it.

I'm not sure, but I think you'll just need the number from your vouchers.

Even if that's not the case, there's no need to panic. A&E is the only FP that's really, really difficult to get at 30 days out. 7DMT will be somewhat limited, but available. Everything else will be wide open.
 
As Alesia said, pretty sure you just need to link your vouchers to MDE via the # on them. We upgraded to AP's in park & they automatically linked, so I don't have experience with your situation.
 
As soon as you purchase your vouchers, link the voucher numbers to your MDE. If you get this done by Wednesday, you'll be able to book when your window opens.

Your APs will not become active until you convert the vouchers at the park. For now, FPs can be selected with linked voucher numbers.
 

As others have said, not a big deal, just link the confirmation/voucher number to your MDE account, and you're off to the races.
 
If you order an AP, the confirmation number for the purchase of a VOUCHER is all you need to put into the MDE account in order to make advanced FP+.
 
What everyone else said is accurate. And your year for your AP wont start until you activate the pass at guest services, despite booking FPs ahead of time.

Vouchers have a number (or barcode you can use) that you can enter. Your TA is mistaken unless you have yet to purchase the tickets. The purchase must be made (and voucher in hand (physically or electronically) so you can link in MDE and then you can make FP+ reservations during your designated window.
 
Thank you for putting my mind at ease:). I'm hoping we'll get the voucher numbers at the time we place the order (not through Disney, so they need to be ordered). If not, hopefully we'll get them within a few weeks so we can still get some good ones.

Tell the TA to order the AP (vouchers) as "Will Call."

The info/numbers regarding the APs will be available immediately when they are ordered.
