Hi everyone. My end and I are thinking about getting annual passes for a last minute trip in two weeks and a longer trip in the fall. I know that you can add the dining plan with APs, but can you get the free dining promotion that has been offered in the fall? Thanks for your help!

The last free dining, you would have to pay full price for the room, add a minimum of 2 day park hoppers to get free dining. You still can use your annual pass, and not use your park hoppers that you have to purchase to get free dining and use that for a future trip.

There is no stacking of discounts allowed. You would just have to go to guest relations to make sure that your annual pass is being used first.

So we would have to buy at least a two day park hopper. Could someone else use that ticket? Would we be able to make our hotel stay longer than that? The dining plan is for the number of days you are staying not for the ticket days, correct? I am just trying to figure out the best deal.

You can reassign unused tickets, yes.

You can book the minimum of 2 day tickets (assuming that will still be the minimum). Your resort stay can be as long as 14 nights and you'd get free dining for the entire stay. Also note that last year's fall offer for free dining required the guest to add either a park hopper or the Water Parks and More option to the package tickets in order to qualify for free dining.

No exemptions for APs, you can't get the offer without buying tickets as part of the package.

Sometimes there is a passholder version of a discount if tickets are required but you have to call them up to find out what it is.

There was also a limited free meal thing that came out earlier in the year for the summer and last fall it was the bounce back offer and now there is a 35% fall room discount going on. I wouldn't be surprised if we've already seen the free meal plan options for the year.

You will likely get a better deal using the AP for a room discount than doing Free Dining.

As long as we can reassign them it is not a problem. We will have other family going in the fall that will need tickets, but I wanted to make sure that we could still get the free dining.

With the new ticket prices/structure, won't these "save for later" tickets expire? I can't remember if it was the multi-day tickets or just the singles that now have expiration, but I would want to check that out before buying a package.

We do this all the time and either save the tickets for later or reassign them to friends or family. For us, free dining is a far better discount than the AP discount. If you stay deluxe, that might not be true.

BTW - you cannot reassign the tickets until after you have checked into your resort.

I have not seen the fall discount? Where are you finding this? Thanks!

make sure your' actually logged in with an mde account that has passholder linked for the passholder specials to appear. I'm also incorrect, I thought it was 35% fall dates but it's a summer passholder deal.

In order to get free dining, as others have said, all guests in a room must have at least a 2-day ticket to qualify for the promo. If your family wants free dining, too, and they are staying in a separate room, they will also have to have tickets on their package.

Typically, the best thing to do, if you aren't going to use the tickets that you must purchase with free dining, is to save them for a future trip or to renew an AP. Transferring them to someone who is there with you in the fall would really mess with their pre-trip FP+ reservations.
