AP and dining plan

Hello everyone,
we had a last minutes decision to add the dining plan to our reservation using the AP rate. I was just told by a CM that it was no longer available to do so. I was under the impression that I had until 5 days out to add the dining plan (we are currently 9days out). Anyone else have this problem recently? :confused3:confused3

call back and talk to someone else. You have until three days prior to check in to add the dining plan.

did you call back? Because as recently as last week you could book AP rate room & dining at 3 days out...I did.

we just returned from AP-rate weekend...actually had 2 different reservations, one for Saturday night that I got a month ago (Wilderness Lodge, 35% room discount with the deluxe dining plan.)

Last week we decided to drive up on Friday evening...so I booked POFQ on Tuesday morning for a Friday evening arrival: 3 days out. Got POFQ at 30% discount and added the regular dining plan for Friday night/Saturday morning.

Did you have an AP ticketless package? Most people don't due to the 45 day penalty rules and opt for just an AP room only res with less stringent cancel policies. If you have the package you can add dining up to 72 hours prior.

Adding dining makes it a ticketless package. If you are converting from a room only res that will be refunded and a new package will be booked. Customer service has to do this, esp. this close, to keep your AP room discount. Normal res agents won't be able to handle it if the AP rooms are gone.

You might be in the "too close to travel to book a package" window, I think there's either a 7 or 10 day cut off for package bookings, used to be closer was allowed. Usually I don't book so close so not sure of the cut off date now in effect.

Unless this was just changed this week, this info is not correct: at least it's not correct to just book a AP room discount/dining package. Maybe they won't change an existing reservation, but they will certainly allow a new AP reservation package to be booked complete with discount & dining in less than 7-10 day out.

I know this because I just booked an AP ticketless package with room and dining plan last Tuesday10/25 for a Friday 10/28 arrival (so was exactly 3 days in advance) I got a 35% discount on the room and the regular "plus dining". I did have to pay for the reservation in full immediately, of course (since it was only 3 days away.) But had no problem booking this package online just 3 days in advance.

I would call back and try to get Guest Services (407) 939-6244 (instead of regular Disney reservations)
