Our trip is not until October. Can I call and purchase an AP and DDE at the same time? I am under the impression that only one person has to have the AP to purchase the DDE and that the DDE is good up to 10 persons. Is this correct? Thanks

The DDE is good for up to 10 people, correct.
However, the effective dates aren't the same for the AP and the DDE.
The AP is good 1 year from when you get it activated at one of the parks.
The DDE is valid 1 year (plus a few weeks due to delivery time) from when you ordered it. For example, I ordered my DDE 2/17 and it is valid intil 3/31/06.

I think they changed the DDE to up to 6 people. I was just down in WDW in the begining of February and at that time it was 10. I was using the fax confirmation, but when I got home and received the card and literature it stated in bold letters that it was for 6 people.

I was under the impression (as are some others here) that it was the other way around, it used to be for 6 and now it is for 10.

I have the same understanding as athenna.

The DDE was good for up to 6 last year - when it was only available to Florida residents. Believe I read that Dining is just using up the old literature.

There have been quite a few reports (on Restaurants Forum) of people using the card for parties larger than 6, (but less than or equal to 10).

Best wishes -

I guess the literature I received was outdated, which is good news, because we usually go down with exactly 10 people. Thanks for the clarification.

Is there a DVC discount for the DDE card? Either way, what is the price?

Florida resident is $75 -- is it the same for everybody, or is there a better deal?

I looked on the WDW website, and of course they don't say anything about how many people may be in the party. Which seems like kinda a basic question, doesn't it? I think a lot of people just looking at the info for the first time would think it was for just one person! It doesn't say anything different.

Thanks.

I just ordered my DDE today. They told me it can be used for up to 9 people. Today

No DVC discount for the DDE card.

AP/PAP passholders get a $25 discount, though - so DDE card costs them $50.

It's 9 people plus the card holder, who must be present.

I spoke with MS this AM and was told that you had to have purchased the AP in order to get the discount for the DDE. So, you need to allow enough time to receive the AP voucher so you can then turn around and order the DDE in enough time to receive it prior to the anticipated vacation. At least, that's the way I understood it.

ummmm. I have a question, what is DDE?

It's the Disney Dining Experince. It cost $50. It used to only be for Florida residents, now it is for AP holders also. It is good for 20% off of many, many restaurants and includes alcohol.

Is this for both sit down and fast food places? Theme parks and resorts? DTD?

I was just wondering if I can purchase a DDE when I purchase a PAP at WDW in May.

It can only be purchased over the phone, Monday to Friday. They can fax the confirmation to your resort if you are already at WDW.

I just got my DDE cards the other day. We have 3 trips planned from now till it expires next March. We'll be getting our $50 worth!
