Can someone tell me how to work my AP in with the 4/3 deal? Can I still get AP discount on the room and get the 4/3 deal? It sounds like a long shot, but thought I would ask. Also, do I have to purchase tickets to get the 4/3 deal? Thanks in advance!

I'm going to move this over to our resort board for you.

We have AP and I called last week about the 4/3 special. You need to purchase at least a one day ticket to the park. If you check in before 3/29 you get an extra $200.00 gift card. As we will be there for my DH's birthday, he will also get the birthday gift card since he does not need park admission on his birthday. Not sure if this is a good savings or not.

What are other AP holders doing?

Linda

You can't combine discounts on the room. It's either the AP discount or the 4/3 but not both.

I'm an ap holder and did the 4/3 deal for this coming may. Like a PP said you need to have to purchase a 1 day ticket because it is a package. I wont use the 1 day ticket (save it for someother time) and I'll get the birthday gift card since my b-day is the second day of the trip. Crunching the numbers I still came out ahead on this deal. My advice is to play around on Disneyworld.com with reservations and see what you come up with. I think most people will come out ahead! :goodvibes

I have an AP, but I booked the 4/3 deal for April. I'm checking in three days after Easter, and thrilled that I could get the 10 day version of this special to cover my dates. I doubt there will be an AP deal for those dates. I did buy the 1 day ticket, which I'll apply toward my AP renewal.

I'm taking an 11 night trip in January with the AP discount, but since the 4/3 deal comes in a maximum of 10 days, I would still be paying one day separately. Running the numbers, and including the gift card, I came out very slightly ahead with what I have, so I left it alone.

I agree that you have to run the numbers to see what works best for you.

I am an AP holder (or will be in a few short days :goodvibes ) and booked the 4/3 for June. I have one day base passes booked but will save them for a later trip.

Since we are staying at a value resort I am still hopeful for an AP rate that will be beat my current rate so I can drop those tickets. With the 4/3 deal, our rate is about $66 per night, but when you factor in 1 adult and 1 child ticket, it is closer to $86. I have my fingers crossed for a $79 or lower AP rate :wizard:

Thanks for all of the advice. Sounds like I will go ahead and book the 4/3 deal and buy a one day base ticket. It would be great if I could apply that toward my renewal. I have another 8 day ticket that hasn't been used. Can that be applied toward the AP renewal too?

I'm an AP holder (although DH is not) and booked the 4/3 deal for the end of January. It was a savings over the AP rate for us.

We'd previously had the same room booked at the AP rate. I didn't need any tickets (I have an active AP), but we were going to purchase an 8-day hopper for DH.

The price of the 4/3 package, booking it with 1-day base tickets, was STILL cheaper--by about $400--than the AP rate, even including the cost of upgrading DH's base ticket to an 8-day hopper. Figured into this savings was the $200 GC, but even without the GC, the 4/3 deal was still a better deal. And we'll have an unused 1-day base ticket left over for use on a future trip.

BTW, this was for AKL. The savings are biggest on the deluxe resorts. The more expensive the resort, the bigger your savings.

Thank you for the great information. I am leaning towards AKL. I stayed there in June and really loved it.

We're AP holders and booked the 4/3 deal for Easter break. This is an incredible deal for us because I doubt there will be AP discounts during Easter break (but I guess you never know!). Like others above, we purchased a 1-day base ticket and will apply it towards future AP's. We have never done this before, but apparently many people do it and it appears to be the way to go!

There was an entire thread about this a couple of weeks ago, started by Mary from mousesavers, who had at first thought the deal wouldn't work out for AP holders, but then figured out about purchasing 1-day base tickets. It was after I read that thread that I realized it was a better deal for us. Thank you, Mary. Thank you, DIS.
