Hi all, I thought I had read somewhere that AP's can still get the hotel discount of the 5 for 3. Does anyone know if this is true?

TIA

I'm not sure if this is true for DL, but at WDW when they offer deals like this AP holders can book the package as long as they purchase at least a one-day park ticket with it. Then, as long as the park ticket is not used, they can apply the cost of that ticket to a future ticket purchase (so when they go to purchase their next year's AP they just pay the difference).

DL may be different, though! Maybe someone else can confirm?

Yes people have reported being able to get the promo. You do have to call, though, you cant' do it online. And you don't have to buy a ticket.

Hmmmmm, this is good to know. I have ressies at the HOJO, but was very tempted to book a room at the PPH during the 5 for 3 promo. I decided against it because I didn't want to buy an extra park hopper that I didn't need. But if it's taken off the cost of a package......then I might be interested.

I'm gonna have to think on it. :scratchin

I don't know about the 5 for 3 deal, but DL will let you apply unused tickets towards the cost of either higher level Hoppers or APs. That's how I got my Premium AP last year - I applied 3 unused tickets towards the cost, and only had to pay $191 in cash. DL views unused tickets "just like currency," according to the DL Bank.

Last May as AP's we got the 5 for 3 rate for our rooms at the PPH, we did not have to purchase any other tickets. My math shows this to be a 40% discount, better than the 30% senior rate. Also you still get the other package benefits of the package deal, TTMM, priority seating, luggage tags etc.

I called and yes you can book the 5 for 3. However when I worked it out it was still cheaper for me to use the AP rate because we only need 4 days. DLH Rate was $1200 (including Taxes) for 4 nights AP or $1400 5 days with the 5 for 3. Since we don't the 5th day I really need to think how badly I want to stay at the DLH. I checked PPH and it's only $100 cheaper.

Yes, you can book this. They do it as a package so you get all the package perks too, like PS seating for the shows in DCA, free pins/lanyards etc. They do not put a ticket on the package and you do have to show your AP when you check in. I had quotes done for July for all 3 hotels and it just wasn't in the budget.
