We're staying at the Poly for the first time this fall, 9/29- 10/7. They are always many reviews of popular longhouses but I would like to hear from anyone who stayed in Aotearoa and their room views/ experiences. We requested this longhouse- 3rd floor- after reading in the PassPorter its a good choice for a view of the monorail and it looks close to GCH. I would really like to hear from someone who has stayed there. Thanks.

I subscribe to this post because we will be at the Poly in 78 short days & that is one of the buildings I requested too. We visited the resort in May & thought it looked like a good location too. I guess if you don't mind not being as close to the GCH & pool which I don't because with grounds & a view like these, who wouldn't mind walking. I would like opinions on this longhouse & the Rapa Nui longhouse as well.

We stayed in Aotearoa last October on the third floor. It was close to the GCH, but a further walk to the TTC, bus stops and the pools. Didn't love that, and at that time, the food court was next to the Neverland Club, which was by the bus stop. Now the food court would be closer because it is in the GCH closest to Aotearoa. It wasn't horrible, but I would have wished we would have been on the other side of the marina to be somewhat closer to the things that were important to us. We could hear the Luau every night, which some people find annoying, but we liked the music, but there is a lot of traffic walking in front of this building in the evening, and some people can be rude, swearing loudly and such, but that could happen anywhere!

I would caution you if they would assign you rooms number 3228 or 3229 (our room) because your view of anything will be completely blocked by a huge orchid tree. It was pretty and it smelled wonderful, but would not have been our first choice of views!! We arrived during the Funai Golf classic and did not have much choice of any other rooms. It sounds like you are looking for a monorail view though, so this would not apply, but just in case.

Enjoy your trip! It is a beautiful resort and it is what you make of it!

I cannot help you with your question, I just wanted to let you know that our first trip to the Poly will be the same exact dates!

That's great! I can tell you are as excited as we are.

Anyone else have experiences at Aotearoa, thinking about changing our request. I realize this building is far from TTC but how far to the bus stop?

We had this longhouse once and not by choice. I really cant remember which floor we were on but I think we took the elevator so it was 2nd or 3rd. I know we had a monorail view which our ds loved. I dont know if it was the season of the year but I found our room to be very sunny which I liked too. I could hear the swish at night from the monorail. I am a light sleeper. As one of the other posters said, if you are coming back to your room or leaving your room during luau traffic time that could be a little inconvenience. I think we expereinced it once. I didnt notice the luau noise too much. We arent in the room too much. It was closer to the marina if you wanted to take the boat to the MK. We wouldnt ever walk to the TTC so I couldnt comment about that. I would stay there again if that was all they had available but our favorite longhouse is Samoa.
