I thought the techies fixed this???

Whenever I go to the DIS using AOL lately, the page begins to load but stops dead in the tracks at around 77%. Sometimes I cant get to the DIS at all. I am now using Internet Explorer to see the DIS, but it didnt used to be a problem. What gives? Is this DIS like this permanently?

That happens to me too. I cant only get in with internet explorer.
I hate AOL we are getting rid of it in 2 weeks---yeeehaa. Getting broadband. Hopefully that will be the end of the problems.

I'm sorry to hear there are still people having problems. . :(

WM Cathy Canada posted today and assured everyone that the problem was still being looked into and worked on. . and she suggested that anyone still having problems post them on the Tech Board where Alex and the other techs who are investigating the cause can find out all the details and try to figure out a common link. .

There is a thread that has been started there- click here to go to it and it would help if you all posted the specifics of what system your using so the tech people can find all the info in one place. .

Thanks; and I know it's frustrating but it is being worked on. . :)

Nope - they havent been working for me yet either.
I go to Internet Explorer after I sign on AOL now.

I made some major changes last nite.. could everyone having problems let me know?

Nope...still gets stuck for me I'm afraid...though I'm not one of the AOL'ers.

strange...I have AOL and not experiencing problems with the DIS. I havent had any of the problems described on either my PC at home (AOL Broadband/Windows XP) or with the laptop (AOL dialup /Windows ME) There was only one day about a week ago that it seemed to be loading slowly, but that's all

I still have to use IE, Alex. It loads to 60% then freezes if I use AOL. :)

I can get in with IE, but AOL is still freezing at about 80-90 per cent for me....

There's even a post over on rec.arts.disney.parks on Usenet that is asking about this problem. I noticed an AOL email addy, so I replied to them letting them know that it's being looked in to.

I'm having no problems whatsoever now. I stopped using AOL and use IE only. I can't access anything except mail and aol only boards! If I try to load anything else, it tells me 'action cancelled'. AOL says I cant' run Windows2000Professional with Aol 5.0. Well, it has been working for over 6 months now. Why stop now?? Think aol will be going away for us.

No problems here... I am on AOL 8.0 and XP...

I thought I'd lost the DIS forever! I am having to use Internet Explorer instead of AOL 8 and Windows 98. Glad I found you guys again! Thanks for looking into it Alex and techies!

I've been going through major withdrawal. :)

I have AOL 7.0 with dial-up and Windows XP and never had a problem getting on the DIS at all. It loads almost as fast as using my DSL line at work with XP. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I had no idea the problem was AOL. I opened the DIS at work today and discovered I could probably still get on through Internet Explorer. I've been dising for three years using AOL and could always get on until two days ago. I tried everything -- in the past I sometimes couldn't get directly on but could link through mousesavers.com or google, but not this time.

Boy, I thought it was just me!! I have been stressed out the past couple of days thinking the Dis had gone away. I am glad you are all still here. I snuck in through Explorer today!!

User here, but have to use Internet Explorer!;) Thanks to Dan Murphy, I am back on the boards after 1 solid week of NO DIS!:( I will skip using AOL for now, as long as I get on the Boards!:o

NO PROBLEMS HERE. Haven't had any of the mentioned troubles.

WINDOWS XP
AOL 7.0
Dial-up connection

Dell with Pentium 4 1.7 GHz
512 mb ram

Occasionally -- VERY occasionally - if I have trouble with a site, then & only then do I need to use IE....but never here.

Hope that helps.

Still having problems getting through. I have Windows 98 and AOL 8.0. I finally got through Internet Explorer but it is running real slow. I am typing right now faster than my curser can move.

The same thing happens with me at work and I don't use AOL
