AoA Family Suite or Deluxe Studio?

This is a hard one. While I love the deluxe resorts and vote for those every time, I would say A of A in your situation. With my kids anyway, they did fine sleeping in the same room as us when they were little and again when they were older. The 6-9 year old range was tough for sleeping and we found it best if they had their own space for sleeping. That is just my family though and it might be different for you. But my vote would be the suite for now and a studio (or similar) for the next time. This is based on me trying to read or watch TV in the bathroom or on the balcony and while it sounds like it may work, in practice it is not very comfortable. :rolleyes1 Hope this helps!
Thank you, this is helpful and is what I was thinking. We've travelled a lot with her but only shared a room twice - once in the Orlando airport (our plane arrived late and we all feel asleep right away) and once on a road trip and it was a nightmare.

This is kinda an anniversary trip for us (we got married in WDW in April 2010). We are going 'early' because she hasn't been to any Disney's at xmas, and we want our big anniversary trip to be in summer of 2025 (we also turn 40), so we are also on a bit of a budget and can't splurge too much on WDW - so can't get a deluxe 1 bedroom. So, I think AoA is an in between, not exactly what I'd pick for an anniversary, but, keeping in mind, we are lucky to even go to WDW :)

I just hope its warm enough to swim since there are no hot tubs at values! DH and my first trip was December 2008, and it was HOT and we swam a lot (at Pop). We went a coupe Decembers later and it wasn't much warmer than Toronto!

Oh one more question. How far in advance should I book? The current discounts only go until December - so I was planning to wait for that. Or should I book and add a discount when it comes out?
User Johnny Quest on the DVC Rent Tranfer sub-forum has reservation points for $10/pt which is valid to book at AoA. You can check that out. I just booked using that last month.
