Great itinerary :)

I have a DS who is 11 and we will be in NYC around the same time as you :) Hope you have a great trip pixiedust:

We are driving from NYC to New Hampshire, the boys (and us) are hoping for a white Christmas, so they can try snowboarding.

We are doing the Very Mickey Christmas party at WDW and have booked for dinner at The Garden Grill for the Candlelight Processional.
Just not looking forward to the long flight over, as we are Aussies who live in Singapore so a bit further to travel. :)

I've been slack... off to update!

Getting more and more real every day!

Will you split your stay & take advantage of free dining from the 12th?

MousefanDU, you could do this too if you were prepared to not have a park day on the 8th (ie first day in parks = 9th). You'd only have FD from the 12th but that would still be five day's worth!

Will have a look later at who else might benefit, but those who haven't seen this thread yet should take a look. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3141417

We are going dec 25 th to dec 31.Staying at Art of animation.Surprise xmas trip to my DD 14.We have been to Disney 3 times but never during the holidays!Flights are high but getting ready to pull the trigger!Sooo excited!
Hi Jillianml, we are actually a bunch of Kiwis/Australians planning together, so we might be an odd group for you to join, our accents are pretty frightening lol! ;) Let me know if you still want to.

I've just added Anzacs to the thread header as well, to show that we are a slightly different group with our own Antipodean slant that can make a difference to how we holiday (thinking international flights etc here!). Thought 'Antipodean' wasn't quite the right word for the thread header though ha ha, let me know if you have a term you'd prefer! :upsidedow <- This smiley must have been made for us downunder ;)

Done :)

We stayed at the Hilton for part of our first trip to WDW in 2004, I loved the proximity to Downtown Disney Dean1972!

Thanks for adding me to the list

unfortunately we are not staying at the Hilton in WDW
We are staying at Hilton Parc Soleil which is about 3 - 4 Km's outside of the world
Looks nice , & we have a one bedroom apartment with washing machine which will be very handy just completing our cruise. :)

Oops! Ah well, will be good to have that space, and yes - I think a washing machine will be veeeeeery welcome!!

Add me to. We leave 8 Dec schedule return date is 18 Dec but....been invited to go to Chicago so might do that as well. It will be myself, hubby and our 10 year old disabled daughter. Big risk but hopefully all will be ok.

So far, book and paid for accommodation at DLH. Waiting for the tax department to issue me with a refund so I can book flights. My daughter has a thing for qantas (think rain man here lol) so will probably pay a lot but peace of mind and not having to deal with her anxiety it will be worth it.

No idea, re anything else. Bit overwhelmed about it all really. I have been before 20 years ago. Hubby and daughter never been. Very excited and wish we were leaving now!

Welcome to the pack :)

What is your daughter's disability? Airlines are usually quite accommodating to those who are differently abled. My cousin's daughter has CP (you wouldn't know it to look at her until she stands up to walk) and while she doesn't fly much now they've always bent over backwards to help with practical seating, priority boarding etc.

Thank you. My daughter has multiple disabilities. Intellectual and physical at times requires full wheelchair assistance if seizures are bad. She also has characteristics of, but no diagnosis of CP. we think this is coming. We manage but excitement and over tired makes it worse. So we are prepared for a few curly days. No rush, will just do what we can. We have prepared and upgraded to concierge so we can watch fireworks there. Just hope we get out for one or two days. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. If that makes sense.

We had no probs with DD being in a wheelchair for the majority of last trip. She had just turned 9 at the time. The US is a million times more wheelchair friendly than Australia is. Add Disney magic into it and it's like there is no wheelchair at all, for DD, IYKWIM.

We're hoping that DD will be strong enough to do most of this next trip without the chair (I doubt it, but she's trying hard with physio!)

Always be ready to change plans at the last moment is our motto :)
