Anza Borrega or Joshua Tree?

We'll be staying at the Fairfield Inn by DL after our July 2 cruise. We'd like to see a desert in Ca.if it's not too far away. We only have 4 days in Ca. Which is closer to Anaheim- Anza Borrega or Joshua Tree? My kids are 19,16 and 13. Thanks!

Well, that's a pretty wide open question....

From Disneyland to the west entrance of Joshua Tree National park (just outside of Joshua Tree, CA on highway 62) is 124 miles. From Disneyland to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park headquarters (just outside Borrego Springs, CA) is 125 miles. The drive from DL to Joshua Tree consists of many more freeway miles than the trip to Anza-Borrego which has a lot more miles of two lane highways so JT would probably be easier to get to. Course, the mileage to JT, as I said, was just to the entrance.

You would really have to do some research and figure out what it is you want to see. They are both very big parks with a lot to see and it will really all boil down to where it is in the parks that you want to go.
