My mum wakes us up at 8am so I chat to her for half an hour, then we get dressed and head to Everything Pop for breakfast. I enjoy the breakfast bagel and hubby has the breakfast pizza. It’s off to the malls. First we hit Festival Bay – it’s dead! Plus not even half the units are filled. There’s another nostalgia shop here but it’s very expensive. They have the same Mustang sign hubby bought and it’s $5 more. I also go into Hot Topic as I love this store and come out with some Labyrinth merchandise and a purple studded bangle. We then go into Steve & Barry’s. Great shop, everything $8.98 or less. I got some tops for pressies and Andy bought himself a nice long sleeve top. From here, we cross over to Old Navy and I buy more tops – man I’ve done well this holiday.

We head to Belz Mall 2 as I want to visit the Disney and Universal cheap stores. Both are a total waste of time with nothing but tat – bummer. We have lunch at Sbarro – pizza pie, yum yum. Then it’s off to the Annexes and Mall 1 as hubby wants to visit Reebok, Nike and Adidas. He gets a pair of shorts and I wait in the car.

We then drive to Pointe Orlando. I get a real bargain at the Barnes & Noble bookstore – a Little Big Book of Pooh that I’ve been drooling over at the Disney Store, which was $25 – I get it here for $7.95! I had to have it for that price. We then went into Glow & Dapy – both are owned by the same people so they all had the same stuff. They have some great Simpsons goodies. They had some Garfield slippers but not in my size – bum! Hubby’s feet are aching so we head back to the hotel. We get into bed and kip until 6pm. Time for a shower and then out to…yes you’ve guessed it…Chilis for dinner. Same starter as usual, then hubby has the chicken ranch sandwich and I have the ribs and chicken combo. Delicious. The chicken is Monterey so comes covered in bacon and cheese, the dish also comes with rice, corn on the cob and cinnamon apples. Lovely. We head back to Everything Pop for drinkies and then we have a wander round the 80s n 90s, before heading back to our room at 11pm. We spot the pizza dude on the way - you can have pizza delivered to your room up until midnight.

Thursday 29th Jan

We’re due to hit the parks today but it doesn’t happen. Hubby’s developed a really bad cough since Blizzard Beach and it’s worse at night. This is my 2nd night of not much sleep. I’m awake until gone 5am so when hubby tries to get me up to go to Epcot, I bite his head off before turning over and going back to sleep! It’s 10am when I wake up and we head off to Walmart for the last time and pick up some cough medicine for hubby. We find some more bargains and run up a $70 bill. One of my bargains is a hooded Garfield top reduced from $15 to $7 so I’m happy. They don’t have an album I’m after despite advertising it for under $10 so we head to the other Walmart on Sand Lake Road. They have it alright but for $13 – how can this be when the other Walmart had it for $9.72?? The woman shrugs when I ask her why the price different – very helpful! I put the CD back and hubby suggest Best Buy or Circuit City. I find it in Best Buy for $9.99 so again I’m happy. We then head off to Mall Millennia to have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. We just had cheesecake the last time we went there so I’m determined to try lunch. We get a table straight away as it’s 2.30. Their menu is huge and there are at least 5 pages of different entrees. Gulp. After much debating, I decide on pasta Milanese which is breaded chicken on spaghettini with a basil and lemon sauce and fresh tomato on top of the chicken. Hubby goes for the blackened chicken sandwich. The server asked me if I wanted the lunch sized portion and I said no – wrong answer! The portion was humungous. I looked at hubby and gulped. I managed half the pasta and most of the chicken before I had to give up and it looked like I’d hardly touched it. The server offered to box it up but I had no way of warming it up so I declined. We took our cheesecake to go. Hubby had the white chocolate raspberry truffle again and I opted for banana cream.

We head back to our room and it’s nearly 4pm. We’re exhausted but I don’t want to sleep. I want to try and catch Fantasmic at MGM as we still haven’t seen it. I offer to leave hubby behind but he wants to come with. Bus comes straight away, great, and MGM is the closest park so within 5 minutes we’re walking towards the entrance. Only to find a big sign saying no Fantasmic tonight – no reason why or anything. We head back to Pop Century and catch the bus to Downtown Disney. We get off at Pleasure Island and walk through to Westside. Hubby is too tired to catch a film so I drag him into Virgin Megastore. I get a few bargains so I’m happy and only $35 poorer. We wander around, grab a drink then head back to Everything Pop for drinks. By this time, I’m getting hungry so I grab a chicken caesar salad and small pizza - not knowing how big the caesar salad is going to be!

Hubby tucks into some tie-dyed cheesecake. Yum. Hubby has a beer and we head back to the room for 9pm.
