Monday 19th Jan
Up early again! Was woken up by hubby at 5.30 as hed been awake since 4ish and was fed up of waiting for me to wake, so he poked me in the back. Nice. Once up and showered, we head to IHOP at hubbys request. Not as good as before and we wont bother going again, because a) theyve stopped making their delicious stuffed French toast, b) their breakfast was incredibly greasy and c) the menu choice wasnt as good as Dennys. Bah. So we eat and head back to the hotel to pick up stuff and we walk to the bus to go to Epcot. We were going to head to AK but the queues are heaving. Not many of us queue for Epcot. We wait about 10 minutes for a bus having just missed one. Were there in no time. The park isnt open as its only 8.30. We join one of 2 queues and wait patiently. At 8.45 they let us in. We get as far as Spaceship Earth as the rope is up. This is the first time weve ever been at a park for the rope drop. Were very excited. About 5 minutes to 9 a bus arrives with characters on it and everyone goes mad. Theres Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Captain Hook, Pinocchio & Gepeto and Terk from Tarzan to name a few.
At 9 the rope drops and we head towards Mission Space and Test Track. A photographer asks us if wed like to have our pics taken so we have them taken in front of Spaceship Earth. On our way, we encounter the characters so I have my piccies taken, including an official one with Mickey Mouse.

Hubby runs for Test Track and I head off to Mission Space to grab a fast pass for him. I wait a few minutes for hubby and hes slightly disappointed by Test Track. He expected it to go faster than it did. We pick up another fast pass for TT so he can try it again and we wander round the Test Track shop where we encounter a cast member who can barely speak English and she buggers up the transaction on our card and she cannot understand the words Pop Century no matter how many times we say it. Eventually I chuck the cash at her coz were getting nowhere fast. 20 minutes of our time she wasted. Then we had a wander around the after-bit at Test Track where they had some rather tasty vehicles.
Now its time for hubbys fast pass for Mission Space. I wander through the shop and the Advanced Training Lab. Hubby loved Mission Space and couldnt stop raving about it, a must-do he reckons. We walked back into the Advanced Training Lab and we sent a video postcard via email. We then go grab a smoothie. We aim for the Universe of Energy afterwards but the queue is humungous so we keep going. Hubby doesnt use his Test Track fast pass for him, Mission Space is the clear winner. We grab some headache pulls from one of the shops ($2 for 2 rip off but necessary) and we make a PS for Le Cellier in Canada for 5.40pm. We go to Spaceship Earth as theres no queue. Great ride, very interesting although I didnt like the coming down backwards at the end buck buck chicken!
We stop at the Electric Umbrella for lunch. Burgers and chips, very nice. Wonders of Life is shut so we decided to leave the other rides for our next visit. We head back to the front, picking up our photos on the way.

Its back to the room for a relax and stretch out before heading back to Epcot and dinner at Le Cellier, which is in Canada at the World Showcase. Thumbs up here the food was gorgeous! 3 different bread white sour dough, pretzel and multi-grain. The cheddar cheese soup is to die for. I have prime rib and hubby has rosemary chicken with garlic mash. It costs about $45 including drinks and tip.

From here, we head through to the UK. A big disappointment. The Magic of Wales Shop is full of Scottish tartan umm hellooo? The only sign of anything Welsh was a Welsh flag behind the counter. Hmm me thinx someone thinks Wales and Scotland are the same thing
Magic of Wales...or should that be Scotland
The Beatles shop was nice though. We went into the Rose & Crown pub what a rip off. $13 for a beer and diet coke.
Youd spend a fortune trying to drink around the world here. We come out to find the British Invasion playing theyre brilliant. I love the Beatles and they play their songs really well. Shame about the naff accents though hehe. We stay for most of their set.
We decide to stay for Illuminations so walk through the worlds until we get between USA and Italy where we find a lovely spot. Illuminations is wonderful and leaves me tearful. The fireworks are incredibly loud and very impressive.

Once its over we join the swarm heading towards the exit. We miss a bus as its so packed but were impressed by the fact that 2 buses turn up so we get home in record time. We have a few drinks in the room and conk out about 11.
