My hubby loves fried oreos. I saw that Boma used to have them made special. Do they still do that? Or is there anywhere else to get them?

Fried Oreos :confused3? I didn't know they existed! What are they? When I think of Oreos I think of milk....! Not trying to be funny and at the risk of sounding totally ignorant (and also sorry I am no help with your question), but your title got me curious.

I think they are usually found at state fairs. I think they sound awful! I love oreo's, but not dipped in batter and deep fried! YUCK!!!

I agree that it sounds nasty but I know they make such things at fairs. Once, at a festival, my son ordered a fried Snickers bar. We each took a tiny bite and threw it out. :crazy2:

I've never seen those at WDW, OP, but I wonder if you couldn't find the recipe online.

:)

Yes, state fairs appear to grab any type of food and deep fry it in fat. Disney is heading in the direction of healthy food options so I do not think you will find this type of offering at Disney.

They're basically oreos dipped in funnel cake batter, deep-fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar. I tried them a couple of times at the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy in NYC a few years back. I liked it, but I like the zeppole much better in Little Italy! Basically the oreo just melts into the funnel cake batter and it is really not too greasy if it is done right (not over-fried, but just fried enough to get crispy, and not sitting around all day).

Cookes of Dublin has some deep fried dessert items on their menu ... or they did the last time we wandered past them on our way to Raglan Road. You should check their menu and see if the still have them.

Yeah they have the fried mars bars and other candy bars.
These used to be very popular in Scotland.
I don't think they ever really took off in Ireland and you rarely see them anymore.

The Chip Shop in Brooklyn is famous for fried oreos, twinkees, pizza and anything you bring in to them. If it can be fried they will fry it.

I heard if you request from the chef at Boma and are VERY nice he will make a bowl of them for you!

I have heard the same and meant to ask on our last trip but completely forgot. Probably because the time I finish my meal at Boma I am close to exploding.:rotfl:

They may not be fried, but you can get huge Oreos covered in fudge with lots of yummy toppings at Goofy's Candy Company. There's nothing like an Oreo covered in fudge and topped with M &Ms and butterfingers. :)

The chef who used to do this at Boma is TJ and he no longer works at Boma. He's at 'Ohana now.

We had them at Boma a couple years ago....I was doubtful, but they were WONDERFUL!!
The chocolate cookie and filling gets all melty and gooey!!

Dipped in batter???!!! :scared1: That's what they do in Scotland to Pizzas, chocolate bars, etc and I was HORRIFIED that people would eat them. But it seems that those who like them really LOVE them. Not for me thanks, but I couldn't contain my curiosity and had actually wondered if they were as literal as they sounded. I do hope the OP's hubby gets them though. I am sure some of the stuff I like to eat makes some people's hair stand on end but on vacation it's great to get something you really like. Thanks - I learned something new. This is something of an educational forum! :cutie:

We have adr's at both. Do we just ask our server? My DH LOVES these. They are dipped in funnel cake batter. Super sweet, I can only eat one. He is skeptical about Boma- but I thought he would eat there if I can get fried oreos. Was TJ the only chef to make them? Do we just ask our server?

Yes, I think you just ask your server. Also, maybe if you BRING some Oreos with you and give them to the CS place in England in the world showcase and ask them nicely they will make them for you? Just a thought..
