Anywhere on property that has "Southern" seafood?

Being born and raised in the South near the ocean I am used to eating fish and shrimp the way God intended - battered and deep fried.

Looking through the menus of the places that have seafood, I don't really see anything that fits the bill. Do any places on property offer fried seafood?

And of those those do not, which ones offer the least exotic preparations of grilled fish? Most of the restaurants have fish of some type, but so many are crusted in nuts or spices I don't like it makes finding a fish to eat a bit difficult...

I didnt check the menu, but I think Captain Jacks has some fried seafood....???? But I would lean towards the Downtown Disney restaurants if you dont want fish and chips......

Rose and Crown serves English style fish-n-chips that are battered and fried.

I don't know if things have changed, but a few years ago Cape May Clambake had fried fish (that was great) in the children's section.

Not southern... but fried....

Yak n' Yeti has Tempura shrimp served with steak and rice.

Fish and Chips don't count as Southern - while they are battered and deep fried, they use Northern cold water fish like halibut and cod, whereas we are used to warm water fish like Mahi or Grouper down here - completely different taste, although I do eat Fish and Chips as a substitute while we are in WDW - but I would much prefer some fried good warm water fish.

I don't recall fried fish at Coral Reef, but the had a fantastic blackened catfish on grits....YUM! Seems like blackened fish is a southern thing [came out of New Orleans] and grits are about as south as it gets....

Blackened is New Orleans, Southern is fried (usually in cornmeal). Blackened is also usually very spicy also.

2) WDW canceled church services and references to God.
3) Thus, all you get is fried.
4) Not Southern.
5) Now, if you want ANYTHING to be cheapened and Mickey Mouse'd . . .

I understand you! I am as southern as it gets,Fried Catfish,Tiliapia,Black Bass,Perch,Virginia Spots,Red Snapper,Flounder,butterflied shrimp, fried in Canola Oil that makes me feel a little better oh and you cant forget the hotsauce ,white bread coleslaw,and oh the cheese grits But from my searching the menus at WDW we will not find anything close,therefore,If I were you I would get a good dose of the fried southern comfort before you leave your world,because WDW has a lot but not what we are use to

Cold Boiled Shrimp is one of our family FAvorites...Couldn't find in on disney proper.

Fried indeed....Boiled Crab, Shrimp, Crawdad, Sausage, Peanuts...That's the essense of Southern Seafood IMO.
