Anything you would like to blame me for?

My sister called today and in the course of the conversation, started yelling at me and subequently blamed me for ruining the lives of her children. Her children, my niece and nephew, are 17 and 21 repectively.

What it amounts to is family drama and her not having any sense of personal responsibility whatsoever.

In no way did I ruin their lives but she won't hear otherwise. So ... whatever.

Anybody have anything they want to blame me for? The weather? Taxes? Unemployment? I figure I may as well take the blame for other stuff too.

I tried explaining that I didn't ruin their lives but that just made her shout even louder. So I ended the conversation. Probably won't hear from her in a while.

So how did I ruin their lives? I have magical powers!!

Her version, shortened, is that I ruined their lives because "you choose not to get along with mom." How their lives are ruined is that because of my choice she can never have family get-togethers.

Really? Lives are ruined because you can't throw a cook-out? Calling her mom a "whackjob" in front of the kids hasn't warped them any?

Anyhow, she's not exactly got the truth straight. I never made a choice to not get along with our bio. mom.

If their lives are RUINED because their aunt (whome they do not live with) and their grandmother are not both going to be at the same functions then someone (hmm, wonder who that can be) did a very poor job of raising them. Good parents tend to turn out children who are a leetle more resilient than that. Even mediocre parents, and heck most bad ones manage better than THAT
