Anything you can't use gift cards for?

We are working on our budget for our November trip, and thought we would just buy $100.00 gift card every month between now and then. Now I know the street vendors don't take them, but they are the only ones I know about. Do the DTD restaurants take them? Do the lounges (bars) in the hotels take them?
Has anyone had an issue using a gift card to pay at Disney?

As long as it's a Disney resort they will take them everywhere, restaurants, bars, you name it. The Swan and Dolphin does NOT take them. Don't know about everyplace at DTD or any of the new restaurants coming to that area, as none of them will be operated by Disney.

Those are about the only places I can think of that Disney Gift Cards can't be used.

Most if not all restaurants and stores at Disney Springs (DTD) accept Disney Gift Cards as a form of payment. In most cases, if the location accepts Credit Cards, they accept Disney Gift Cards.

If it's a Disney owned & operated hotel, yes.

This has been my experience as well. We've also just charged everything to our room and paid off the bill with gift cards the day before we left.

Also Yak and Yeti store in AK doesn't have ability to take magic bands or gift cards.

The pressed penny/nickel/quarter machines do not take gift cards either. In addition to Swan and Dolphin, I don't think they accept the Disney Gift Cards at Shades of Green or any of the non-Disney-owned hotels on property.

Just and FYI. We were able to use our gift cards at a several street venders during our last trip. I know one of the carts was in Epcot and another at Hollywood Studios, the 3rd was a cart in Tomorrowland that sold frozen lemonade. I only remember the last one because that lemonade was the sourest thing I'd ever tasted and ended up throwing the whole thing away.

Browse the budget board here. They have great tips for getting deals on Disney Gift cards. I saved an average of 11% buying them using their tips. For every $100 you want to spend, you could get $105-110 in actual gift cards.

Most of the street vendors do take gift cards. Places like the ice cream carts. But I have had a problem with that more often than not. The reason given is that the Wifi is down and they cannot take gift cards.

When I was at WDW in 2013, the hot dog stand at the Boardwalk was cash only. It was the only place at WDW that I went to that didn't take CC's or GC's.
