anything new for F&W 2020

Wondering same thing......heard it was, but haven't really been on the boards recently

Is F&W still on in OCT
Disney is currently offering a Flower & Garden - Food & Wine hybrid festival. It opened when EPCOT opened last month and will run “through the fall”. Disney has not offered a specific ending date.

There are no food or beverage seminars. No Party for the Senses. In fact, no special events whatsoever. There are 20 food booths around the World Showcase, each with a pared down menu. Some are F&G related items, some are F&W returning favorites.

Has anyone on here been to it? And if so, how scaled back is it compared to the usual F+W (in terms of food offerings and booths)?

In 2019, there were 41 booths. Now there are 20.

As far as pared down offerings, in the China booth, for example, there are two food choices compared to 4 in 2019. They had 6 beverage choices whereas they have 3 this year.

Not all booths are open right now, some have signs saying they will open in the Fall. It does seem like a scaled back version of a FW/FG mix. The menus maybe have about 60-70% of the normal amount of offerings. I personally would not go if you are just going to enjoy a traditional FW Festival. The merchandise is leftovers from the F+G Festival.

They call it "taste of epcot, international food and wine festival 2020". Both the Disney website and the app have all the info about it, including menus. It is definitely food and wine lite, but we enjoyed it. (We were at Disney from 7/25-8/8.). Currently there are 20 food booths, jammitors and Mariachi cobre alternate performing at America gardens, there are festival merchandise booths around world showcase... currently going through the flower and garden merch and then switching to food and wine sometime in the fall, and the Remy scavenger hunt map--current prize is a flower and garden one, should eventually switch to a food and wine themed one. The food booths only have a few items at each. Not sure if they did this in recent years, but 4 of the food booths are inside the world showplace--located between Canada and UK. Lots of tables, a few with chairs, and occasionally the pianist from grand Floridian plays there. We found this a great spot to get food when it was about to rain, or if you just need some a/c. DD16 loves spanikopita, so we got a ton for her over 2 days. We really enjoyed it as our flower and garden trip was cancelled and this trip normally would be before food and wine. It is definitely a lite version of food and wine, but we were good with it!

And to space things out some of the booths are located in Future World instead of everything being in World Showcase

My expectation is we will run the hybrid festival then a christmas/holiday/winter festival then festival of arts then flower and garden.

Might have a 1 week break as the flip the grounds between festivals with possibly a final actual break coming next summer. They might just add a summer festival though and repeat in to Food and Wine.

I don't really see a reason not to have festivals going on non-stop as long as they are different enough. Where I am they normally have non-stop festivals all summer with a different music or ethnic festival every weekend in Milwaukee and things like Summerfest are huge as it has been deemed the largest music festival in the world.
