Finally got around to making our ADR's for July. The diners.... DH and I (anything goes) DS(12) DD(8) DS(3) DS(1)
the only "issue" is one character terrified DS(3)- really just hates them all he freaked last year and then just last weekend almost fainted when the Easter Bunny came out. He does not like Characters(we are squeezing in 2 though for everybody else)Oh and we are staying at the Poly
July 1
Arrival day- plan on DTD and dinner at Ohana's
2nd
Coral Reef(the kids love this place I would skip it but I'll take one for the team)
3rd
lunch at the Sci- FiDinner at Brown Derby
4th
Garden Grill
5th
Kona
6th
Marakesh
7th
Concourse Steakhouse
8th
Alfredo
9th- departure day Breakfast at Ohana
So anything we should change? The new ones for us that we have never tried are Marakesh, Ohana and the Concourse Steakhouse.
No dining plan for us but we do have the DDE( :drinking: )

I really wonder if it is a good idea to take DD8 and DS3 to Concourse Steakhouse. I've got to believe they're going to wonder why you're eating there instead of over at Chef Mickey's where all the sound of everyone having fun is coming from.

I haven't heard anything good about Alfredos, and Sci-Fi is pretty inconsistent.

Other than that, I think you've got some great choices. Coral Reef is excellent, and Brown Derby is as well. Marrakesh has great food and great entertainment. We visted Garden Grill in January and our little ones loved the character interaction. I've heard great things about Kona.

The only place that I would suggest changing is Alfredo's. We went their to enjoy the fettachini alfredo and there was way too much cheese in it, even for cheese lovers. If you go there I would try something else. The restaurant did have a great atmosphere.

Well, my family loves Sci Fi and Alfredos. We would (and have) gone back to both! But we have only done lunch at both, maybe that's the difference?

I liked the Garden Grill food (went there sans family when I went to Mousefest with a friend). The only thing you should maybe think about with this character meal is the way the restaurant is set up. You sit in booths that are individual/private that face out towards the outside of the circle (the restaurant is a revolving circle). It may be difficult to take the 3 y.o. away if he gets scared when the characters come. This restaurant is set up differently and it might make it more difficult?? I don't know, but those are my thoughts.

I haven't tried the other places on your list but they sound like they will be fun.

You know the Concourse is the one that I am most iffy on. I didn't even think about the proximity to Chef Mickeys(although the only one that likes it is the 8 year old and she doesn't eat anything she just likes the M&M's) The rest of us can't stand it. Maybe I should avoid it all together though. We LOVE Kona so I am thinking we might do room service one night just to take it easy. Funny thing is when I made my reservations today I was told that Kona is becoming the popular place in the hotels. They actually have gone from being a total walk up restaurant to being sold out on some nights!
Hmm and Alfredos is one that we have been to- not our favorite but we like the atmoshere and I think we will be in Epcot on our last evening(we always end up there) any other ideas? We have eaten at all the Epcot restaurants except for Marakesh so that will be fun no matter what. We ruled out Mexico- because it is a little tight seating for our crowd. Didn't care for Norway, China, or Germany on the food front. Maybe I should change our lunch at Tepanyaki to a dinner for that last night......... hmmmm
Should I try to add a CRT dinner instead? I just love the castle- so beautiful up there and quite frankly I couldn't care less about the food there. I could swith Concourse with CRT? since we are planning on going to MK that night.OK forget the castle- I just figured out that it would cost us close to $200 for the night. I don't need the ambiance that bad.

Oh and on the MGM character meal...He said no time soon but he believes it will happen in November. *He says that time of year is when they try stuff out(a la the Ohana change ect..)
