Anything good at Sci-Fi?

So I wouldn't normally go here but for my DS12 it was a "must have" - I originally had ADR for lunch, then switched it to dinner (again, for DS, it's out first time and he really wanted to go for dinner)

SO - 2 questions -

#1 - our reservation is for 730, DHS closes at 7 that night - is that a problem as far as service goes? Will we be rushed, and will the food be not as fresh?

#2 - anybody have anything positve to say about anything on the menu? Or is it all just about atmosphere? I understand it won't be "gourmet" food but from what I've been reading, is it even edible??

It has been getting decent reviews lately, but when I went it was pretty horrible. Cool Concept, but the food was lacking.

Hopefully it has gotten better as some people have been saying.

BEST BURGERS!
BEST ONION RINGS!
BEST SHAKES!

Burgers aren't on the menu at dinner but you can still get them. Just ask your CM.

Can't answer about the service since we always do lunch but last time we were at Disney, I made our ressies at 50's Prime Time 10 minutes before park closing thinking that we would eat while the crowds wound down. BIG HUGE MISTAKE. We got HORRIBLE service, no interaction, HORRIBLE food and they cleaned up all around us and the CM's were hollaring back and forth across the restraunt like they had already closed. We scratched 50's PT off our list this year because of it.

I hope you don't have this problem at Sci-Fi. It is really a fun place.

Food was still terrible 3 months ago but we have always loved the atmosphere here. Milkshakes are pretty safe.

Food was definitely lacking when we ate there. The inside is cool, but the food was not so great. Wasn't worth $12 a sandwich.

Didn't like the food at all. I had the burger and DS had the ribs. (He loved the ribs tho.) Dessert I had the cheesecake. it was okay. but DON'T even TRY the crackerjacks that they put on the plate! It was STALE!!!! (looked pretty tho!)

I was there last Labor day weekend and it was surprisingly good.
My previous experience wasn't great.
The inside of the restaurant is so worth experiencing, but don't plan on having high quality food.
Shakes are great and they do some good adult drinks. I had a pasta dish that was very good.
I also had excellent service each time that I have been.
We will be going there during our trip in Sept.

We've never been there but I'm definitely putting it on our list for this summer. I just want to give it a try. I'm pretty sure we'll be happy with the burgers and shakes.

Totally aree w/ all your BESTs. For the BEST service ask for DREW. He's been there forever & is by far the BEST waiter we've ever had. Have a great time. Its on the top of our list of must eats.

Am I the only person in the world that doesn't have a problem with the food here?

My problem is that it takes an hour and a half to eat, and the video loop is only 30 minutes or so. You'd think with a lot of B movies that have been allowed to slip into the public domain, they could put a whole lot longer spool of footage on. Shoot--they could even SHOW the movies all day.

We are going to give it a try in Sept. I think it would be neat for DD4 to see, and me too. I have been going to Disney for years but never ate here.

Everyone in my party liked it. We all had reubens or ribs and everything was yummy!!

:thumbsup2 Yes! I specifically remember Drew from a couple of years ago. He loves his job and is fantastic.

It's been a couple of years so my food opinion is not reliable, but I hope the Reuben is as good this year as it was in the past.

We go every year and have never had a bad meal. The food certainly isn't high end, but it's good. We do prefer lunch over dinner.:goodvibes

Two words...ADULT MILKSHAKE :drinking1

The burgers aren't too bad either :thumbsup2

DH and I ate there for the first time last Sept and its now one of our favs, we plan on eating there again this Sept.

I agree 110% I had a burger, fries and shake when I went with ORings as an app. it was soooooooo good. If you like a big fat juicy (and a little greasy) burger this place is for you. The food reminded me of all the "greasy spoon" diners back home

DH always gets the Reuben, and I always get the burger with a vanilla shake. And we eat there on every trip we make to WDW, and we have four trips planned this year (well, three now).

And I don't think the burger is on the dinner menu, but you can ask for one.

I will only eat the Burgers, Fries/onion rings, and milk shakes (really good). DD did not take my advice on this in Dec and regretted her decision. She would not send it back though and I know they would have replaced her choice with a burger and fries if she had let me. She did not eat more than a bite of her sandwich. As long as you stick with the basics here, you will have a good meal and the atmosphere here is what it is all about really.
