My advice to anyone traveling to WDW...don't worry about hurricanes. Charley is about as bad as it could ever get at WDW, and at most you'll spend one day in your hotel room. WDW always has power, and never runs out of food. People on the coast evacuate *to* Disney....

erinch said:I'm the OP; we're going for 3 1/2 weeks--one week of it at Bradenton, the rest in Orlando. My DH is extremely hurricane spooked. I keep assuring him there are lots of people actually living in Florida--they lived there before last summer, they live there now, and just like them, if we are there when the "big one" hits, we will take precautions and COPE.
Both he and I grew up in Southern California, right on top of the San Andreas fault, so I'm thinkin' his subliminal earthquake anxiety has transferred to hurricanes.
thanks for the reasurring words. I will repeat them like a mantra to him.
But, the hurricanes and tornados really freak me out 
and not too much
