On our Disney Cruise last year, the photography place was able to take our digital camera card and download all of our pictures onto a CD for us. Then we could clear the card and use it to take more pictures.

Anyplace at WDW that does this??? Thanks :)

Hi Seaspray

I hear Epcot can ... but I believe they use a send out service and can take forever and a day to get your disc back...not literally, but I hear it takes a while.

Last year I used Walgreens. They're just off WDW property at the end of "hotel blvd." They do 1 hour service there. The disc was only $2.99.

At the end of hotel blvd you go left and then left again at the next light. The second left goes directly into the Walgreens parking lot.

It's about a mile from DTD.

This is a quote form the ALLEars newsletter that came out today:

"EDITOR'S NOTE: Also remember that you can copy your photos from
your camera memory card to CD at any of the theme park's camera
centers. It costs about $12 plus tax."

And you'll need it with all the pictures you'll be taking of the Robbs, Ca Mickey and the Lombardis drinking their beers in the lounge!

Yes you can do that at the parks. Just be careful once you have the CD. When you get home make another copy. If anything should happen to that CD you have lost
your images.

It would be a good idea to buy an extra memory card or two. They are fairly cheap.

Thanks everyone! :) I asked my DH last night about our memory cards and he reminded me that we bought an extra one on the Disney Magic last year...so...hopefully we'll be OK (we now have a 256meg disc, a 128 disc, and the original 64 disc), but if not, it's good to know that we'll be able to have our pics transferred to a disc. On the ship, they also give you a sheet with thumbnail pics. Does anyone know if they do this in the parks too??

clombardi: That's true! I'll be sure to take lots of pics to put on my web site :earboy2: including you, the CA Mickeys, and TheRobbs drinking all of the beer at the concierge lounge. :teeth:

tiggerwannabe: Thanks for the info! :) We won't have a car, so we'll either have to just use the memory cards that we have, or buy another card, or have them put onto a disc in the park. Please tell your mom I said HI! :wave2:

safetymom: Is the location for this at the same place where you go to view the pictures that the park photographers take? Immediately to your right, when you enter the Magic Kingdom? Thanks :)

Does anyone know if they put the exact same resolution as shot.
EXAMPLE: I shoot 8.2 Megapixels in RAW Is that what gets put on the disc or do they put a 3mp Jpeg on it?

I don't know I tried finding out myself but couldn't find an answer. I also shoot in raw @ 8.2 mb and figured I can only get about 90 shoots on a 1 gig card and that a cd only holds about 720 mb so at $12 a disk at WDW it would get expensive, I also read you have to give them your card and they will get it back to you in 24 hours, sorry I need the cards and can't go without for that long or take a chance they would lose them. I searched around and finialy decided to buy a portable storage unit, I bought the Epson P-2000, very nice and can view and confirm photo's where transferred.
There are other devices out there , even portable DVD burners, good luck in what you decided to do.

I will be taking two microdrives 4gb and 2gb, so it will be almost 800 images worth. Since it is my first trip I am sure I wont be in "photographer" mode, but will carry camera on most days. I am just looking for an excuse to buy more gear.
This is what I am thinking about getting(bottom one)

You can download onto a disk at MK at Exposition Hall on Main Street - be warned - IT TAKES A LOOOOONG TIME!

I actually had enough images to fill two cds - (they only put 100 images on a cd - I don't know why?) Anyway, I figured it would take about 10-15 minutes and I was there for over an hour! It did cost 12.99 for each CD, so I spent well over $25.00 for this service.

But I didn't have another memory card and we were only three days into our trip. Live and learn :confused3

There were two machines that download memory cards and there is a Kodak employee there to help you - good for people like me who don't know what I'm doing!

Next time I will spend the money on an additional memory card instead.
