I am curious if anyone is scheduled to be married during the free Disney Dining Special going on 8/26/07-9/22/07.

If so, do you benefit from this??? Did you already book your package with the Dining and pay for it?? Soooo, then do you receive a credit?

Or, if you haven't/didn't include the dining into your package, does it get added on anyway since others booking by the end of June for that time period automatically get the free dining?

Anyone know if Disney does this every year around the same time of year, or do they rotate the dining special with the different value season months??

Thanks so much for your help!

We're trying to figure out if we should move our wedding a little later in August to possibly get in on that deal for 2008.

Hi there! I am getting married on September 21st. Most of my guests and I booked with the free dining. The room nights count towards your room requirement so it works out just fine!

I had previously made my reservation through our wedding website, however, once the dining special was offered, I called to change the reservation and I was credited my deposit in 2 weeks.

Disney doesn't offer Free Dining as a rule, but they have offered it during the same time for the past few years - because September is the slower season.

You sound just like me! The reason why I chose September 2007 was because I was really counting on the Free DP. Thank goodness they offered it. I hope they offer it next year as well just for you!!!

We're getting married September 1st and got the free dining as well!

I waited a bit too long on the day it was announced and when I first called and tried to get the disney dining I was told we couldn't because it was sold out for our resort already (POFQ) .. I was about to say "well thanks anyway" and hang up but the woman I was speaking to kept saying "well, let me see what I can do! I really want you to get the free dining since it's your wedding and all!"... how sweet was that huh? :wizard: she was like my dining fairy god mother and worked her magic and now we are eating for free all four days there!

some of my wedding party is able to take advantage of it but some are not.. either they waited too long and it wasn't available anymore at their resort or they aren't staying long enough to be eligible.

I'm super excited because this is the first time I've ever done the free dining!!

I wish we were staying longer now though so we could eat at all the places I never have gotten to before but always wanted to try!

Speaking about POFQ, i am planning my stay there as well (2 weeks later:banana: ). I requested a king sized bed and was told that was not possible. Is this what you requested?

hmmm.. you know, i'm thinking we do have a king sized bed but I'm not sure. I'll check my paperwork when I get home from work this evening.

I do know that we had already made our reservations and then called back to try to get the free dining and I thought I had a king sized bed reserved in the beginning but they told me no, I had two doubles  .... so if I wanted a king I'd have to add on to the total price, which was fine by me.

anyway, we either have a king or a queen.. but I'm really thinking it's a king.

I'll check later and let you know!

Jodee Im really glad that you are considering this as an option now! It saves a lot of money on food (for instance-- if everyone has Free Dining than everyone can eat at O'hanas and it wont charge you one thing!). Will make rehearsal dinners and whatnot much easier!

On our trip we booked through AAA and took them up on their offers and we saved tons. Our origional date to be married was in September (the 19th to be exact) but that wouldnt have left us enough time. We all paid for the dining plan which worked out well though. GL:thumbsup2

Thanks so much you guys...I am just hoping my booking times will coincide OK if they do offer this next year...I am flexible on our date for the most part, I just don't want to keep changing just because of the dining plan, or waiting too long to see if they offer it!

I just looked and we are down for "requested kng bed" but I'm guessing that doesn't mean it's for sure. :confused3

I don't know why they would tell you that you couldn't get one.

Thanks for double-checking! I am going to call again today to make sure it wasn't some misunderstanding.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they would tell me that it's not possible either:confused3 Even if I did have to pay extra, wouldn't the CM tell me that?
The lady didn't even give me another option, she just said "its not possible"...weird....

So, I called to see if there was any availablility for a king sized bed at POFQ. The CM was so very nice and explained to me that this required a seperate reservation and can't just be requested.
Unfortunately, there are no other King bed rooms available:sad2:

Oh well, it would've been nice...

a seperate reservation from one with free disney dining on it?

so are you going to have a queen bed then? I certainly hope you don't have two doubles! :sad2:

It sounds like all of the king rooms are already taken is what happened... maybe you could keep calling and checking as it gets closer to your wedding to see if anyone cancelled though. I used to work in a hotel (just a holiday inn) and people would sometimes call and leave their name and ask if a king sized bed became available would be put them in it first over anyone else... kind of like a waiting list. I don't know if disney does that though. :confused3

hmmm, I wish some disney CM's would cough up all the options available. Sometimes all you get is "yes & no" from them. oh well....

IF I wanted to secure a King bed room, then I'd have to change my reservation (I'd still have the free dining) because the price would change.

The guy explained that all the King beds were taken. He also suggested to call again and see if anything's opened up. But he didn't suggest the queen bed option - in fact, I didn't even know they offered this. If they do, I wish he would have mentioned that.

I'll try again in another week:sad2: , thanks for your help!!!

ooh, maybe they don't offer a queen bed, I was just assuming, sorry! :cutie:

but good luck and keep calling back! maybe you'll get that king after all!
