I know. At this point it's only another prediction of AP rates coming out on the 22nd of this month:o But was wondering what your thoughts or historical trend of the release for rates thru early Dec? I have a strong feeling if and when they are released they won't be for our timeframe of early Dec. and... here we will go again to play the waiting game:( I would love for Dec to be included but I bet they will only be for thru early Oct! If this is the case how much longer do you think all of us Nov/Dec WDW goers will have to wait. Of course I do realize with the circus going on right now that I may be jumping thru hoops to even consider us being able to get AP rates for those dates. Oh well they sure keep us on our toes waiting and waiting and anticipating and anticipating................ Is'nt this supposed to be fun???:o

No one knows what Disney is going to do, even the cm's don't know. They throw out random guesses that turn out not to be true. So there's no way to know.....

Then, those of us who are going in Oct (such as myself) will be holding our breath (like we're not already?) like the people who have late August ressies.

I think the discounts will come out, but they will be few and far between, and very last minute. If the crowds do not let up, Disney doesn't need to offer us better rates.

Historically, Disney hasn't offered discounts in the fall. They usually release the discounts for late November/early December in October. The last year or two have been against the norm, and I think that Disney is trying to revert back to offering A/P discounts only a month or two out. The problem is the advent of the Internet combined with people getting spoiled during the post 9/11 time period when discounts were easy to come by. I think there will be discounts, I just think we need to wait a little longer.

It's just my guess, but unless something very unusual & unexpected happens, I think there's no plans for any additional discounts thru the end of this year. Sorry....but that's what I think.

I totally agree Puffkin.
This is part of the reason we decided to join DVC. No more fretting about codes... my vacations are already paid for. Although this Thanksgiving we decided to add a few days before our trip at the CR. Needless to say, an AP discount would be very, very nice.
:D

I wouldn't be surprised if our AP discounts didn't come to fruition. The discounts aren't out past August right now. We're there in September, and there are no AP discounts. That's O.K., because we're doing better with our SOG rate of $66 at CR. The Swan and Dolphin ARE offering AP rates. From Mousesavers:

The Swan and Dolphin sometimes offer discounts of 50% or more off to Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. The rate is as low as $139 for the rest of 2003, subject to availability. You'll also receive a FREE one-category upgrade on your room (purchase "standard" room and be upgraded to "lake view," for example). Taxes, resort service fee and gratuities not included. Not all dates available at this rate; blackout dates may apply.

To book, call (888) 828-8850 and ask for the MSAP rate.

Expedia also offers good rates for the Swan/Dolphin at about $10 per night more.

It's the middle of August, and Sept. AP rates aren't out, so I think you shouldn't hold your breath waiting for any AP rates. The Fairytale Magic package is where the discounts are, and that does AP holders no good. It's just another AP perk that's disappearing. I hope it's a temporary thing.

I'm not giving up hope yet. My person feeling is that there won't be as many discounts for fall due to the success of the Fairy Tale Package. I think there will possibly be good rates for the dates in between the end of the FTP (11/20, I think) and the beginning of holiday season. In general I think Disney is just waiting to release AP and other discounts until much closer to the travel dates.

I think some kind of discount (hopefully AP) will come out soon, as the CMs have been hinting. If they do come out, they will probably be thru 10/1. Unless they come out so late that Oct is almost here! I checked Disney online reservations for AS Mo, Sp, and Mu, for the Oct dates I am traveling, and there are rooms at all 3. AS Mo and As Sp have both preferred and standard, while AS Mu only has preferred. I have been hearing that DW is getting an unusual amount of ressies for Dec. That's great for DW, but what about Sept & Oct availability? Better late than never for the AP rates. At the very worst, I have a DC discount. In the future, maybe Disney Visa will have discounts, or I'll join AAA. But, I won't give up on AP discounts yet, especially with people cancelling their DW ressies and moving to the Swan, etc. To be honest, if I could get the 99. rate in Oct, I would be tempted to go to the Swan also. The bottom line is, while I won't hold my breath, I still believe there will be limited AP discounts.
