From what I saw on the news today, it looks like the hurricane will more likely hit the Carolinas or the mid-Atlantic. I think you'll be ok, but keep tuned to the Weather Channel to watch out for travel delays.
We are concerned in a couple ways. First, we leave on 9/20 for DW. Second, we live in NC. The hurricane could cause a tremendous amount of rain, and cause damage here. Or, the hurricane could cause problems in Orlando, and we elected not to take the insurance.
TmanyKids.. I am in NC also, and watching the news right now.. it really looks like it will get the wilmington/outerbanks/va area Thur PM. Where is Clemmons?
It truly looks like Isabel is NC bound and FL will be just fine. I am driving Thur PM to Orlando, seperate vaca not wdw, so hopefully it will be a safe drive.
Mouse lovers.. the magic of disney is with you. You'll be just fine!
We too are worried about a rainy trip.... mostly because this was to be a NON park trip... just hanging out at AKL and vwl...... the thought of rain, and amusing our littleones really sucks! LOL
On the upside.... if it does rain we will head to the parks... and if it is nice and sunny... no parks, all pool.
The 'models' are looking good for us right now.... but sometimes pesky hurricanes (and Isabel is a frisky one, coming back up to a cat 5 after slowing down a bit) turn and head west.
I hope for everyones sake (along the eastren seaboard) the Issy turns back out to sea... and misses everyone!
Florida should be ok. My husband is stationed on the SE coast of Florida 3 hours from Orlando, and he said that from what he's been told they should not be greatly affected. The ships are sent out if a hurricane comes in, and as of now they have received no word on preparing to go out to sea. So I think that Florida will be safe.
