Hi all. I work for the Bureau of Reclamation which is an agency under Department of Interior and I was wondering who else works under the DOI and was affected by the court ordered internet shutdown. Any opinions?

Explain - Do you do actual work with the internet.

My job uses the internet to communicate with our headquarters. I also use it, to send material to a printing facility weekly.

I also use it for a data base to send changes/upgrades etc.

Yes I use the internet alot. I am a Staffing/Classification Human Resource Specialist and I use the internet to get to OPM to get the classification standards I need. I also use the internet because we are piloting an internet job hiring program called Quickhire where applicants apply online and the only way of contacting the applicants and getting there complete applications and resumes are through the internet. We also had to disconnect from the Intranet.

The shutdown was ordered on March 16 and finally today (March 25) we are able to connect until further investigation.

I was just wondering what people's opinions were about the shutdown and the reason behind the shutdown.

Pooh_Friend#1,
I don't work for DOI, but I do work for an oil company and the fact that the Minerals Management Service website and email are down is really affecting our us. I heard it was due to some kind of lawsuit.
