Anyone work at a car dealership?

Selling cars??? How do you get paid? I was thinking about going into that business. Working at a Toyota dealership. Is it based on commision only???

depends on the dealership. Where I live it is all commision but another part of the state has a small salary and commission.

just to let you know Nov-Feb are the worst times to get into the car business. You can't compete with Santa.

National average is 1 in 7 makes it as a car salesperson.

I sold cars for 8 yrs and was a finance manager for 2. I got out of it a few weeks ago. Any questions shoot me a pm I will be happy to answer them for you

My ex (my son's dad) decided to try to be a car salesman at a Dodge dealership in a busy area.... needless to say, he only did it for 6 months, and could not afford to stay there anymore. His income dropped by about $20,000 from where he was working before. He was working on a small salary and commision. He said the problem was there was a ton of salespeople and just not enough customers to make a decent salary.
