Anyone with medical knowledge I need help

We got a call from the nursing home regarding mom. They accidently gave her to pnemonia shot today, and stated that they will watch her for the next 24 hours and her DR has been notified. Is she in mortal danger they won't give us an answer to that. If anyone can give any help please let me know.

You didn't say what her health issues are. I always had to sign a release form for my mom to get the shots. Perhaps that's what they are freaking about. They don't have a signature on file and if something (don't know what) should happen, they are liable. Big trouble if the state finds out.

Are you saying they gave her two (2) pneumonia shots today?

Yes sorry 2 shots in one day, and yes I did sign an authorization form last November. The only health issue she has in alzheimers and is on anti-psycotic meds along with Aricept and Numenda, other than that she is healthy. My question is what can 2 shots in one day possibly do to her. This is what they won't tell us.

Here are the side effects of the vacine. Since it's not a live virus I would not think she is in Mortal danger, but she may be very uncomfortable.

Some people have mild side effects from the shot, but these usually are minor and last only a very short time. In studies, about half of the people getting the vaccine had mild side effects--swelling and soreness at the spot where the shot was given, usually on the arm.

A few people (less than 1 percent) had fever and muscle pain as well as more serious swelling and pain on the arm. The pneumonia shot cannot cause pneumonia because it is not made from the bacteria itself, but from a bacterial component that is not infectious. The same is true of the flu shot; it cannot cause flu. In fact, people can get the pneumonia vaccine and a flu shot at the same time.

I imagine that she will be fine. I commend the nursing home for notifying you (instead of covering it up). If you have concerns, ask to speak directly with the doctor.
