Anyone with experience using magical wishes for kids meals?

We have the Discovery Magic package booked, with the intention of using our magical wishes for meals.

My children are 8 & 10 yrs old.
I have been told that my 10 yr old can order of the adult menu. And the 2002 Discovery Magic guide says that a child under the age of 9, must order off the children's menu when available.

My question is............even though my 8yr old has to order his entree off the children's menu,will he still be entitled to the appetizer that the rest of us can order for lunches and dinners ?

Have any of you had experience with this recently?

We did the Discovery Magic Pkg back in 2000 for our Halloween Trip. and yes my kids were 10 and 9 at the time. And they did get appetizers too
