anyone with closing dates overdue?

I was wondering if there was anyone else out there waiting for your closing papers? We were supposed to close June 1st (SSR) and haven't heard anything yet. We called and Disney said they are really behind. Anyone else close past their estimated closing date? How long did it take? Thanks!

We want to hear too. We have planned a trip towards the end of July and have already made reservations using our points at BWV.

Since DVC already has your money, the paperwork is signed, and financing approved (if applicable), I assume the closing is little more than a formality. We bought into the first buidling at SSR, and our closing occurred about 4 days before we arrived for our stay. We didn't even receive our copies of the paperwork until 3-4 weeks after our return.

Give MS a call and they should be able to confirm that you will have no problems with your scheduled stay.

Glad to hear you didn't have any problems. We called our guide this week and he said Disney was behind. He thought we shouldn't have any problems using our points since we have a confirmation number. We will certainly verify this before we go in July.

Our estimated closing date was April 1 and we did not receive anything until around May 10. Deed just arrived June 22. You have paid and signed all nessacery papers, they will arrive soon. You should have no problems.

if you don't know your membership number - call MS and give them your Social Security number - they can look it for you and help you make any reservations

I had called about this just last week and my guide, Ricardo Florez, said that the Certificate of Occupancy was what was delaying the closing. I am sorry that I cannot remember my building number. I bought in March and I believe our original closing date was sometime in June.

We bought in March too and were supposed to close June 1st so it sounds like we are similiar to you. I think everything will work out. We have our membership number and a confirmation letter. Sounds like they are just what they say--behind.

Add us to the list too! We were supposed to close June 1st too. We've paid in full, have our membership number, and we're going down in August, with our confirmation number in hand! I've been really confused, wondering if we threw a monkey wrench into the works. About three weeks after we returned from our vacation (when we bought into DVC), our guide called to tell us we were going to "close" the following Monday or Tuesday. We had decided we wanted to add 25 more points, so we did that, which was just tacked onto our contract. Then, we decided not to take advantage of Disney financing, instead we threw everything onto our Disney credit card (rack up those disney dollars) and paid it off with our home equity line of credit. The charge has been on the bill, and already paid off, so I've been worried about where are paper work is! Misery loves company I guess!!

When we joined at VWL when it was new back in 2000 it took almost 4 months for our deed to get registered. With a new resort and the brisk sales the staff must be swamped. But it will all be fine.
