Anyone willing to share Music List for Marathon Weekend?

My music choices are very eclectic and so never think anything is too strange to run to. Sometimes it's about the beat/pace & sometimes the inspiration lyrics. For the WDW'07 Marathon, I let my kids fill my MP3. While a little nervous about what an 8 & 11 yr old might come up with, I am happy to say they picked good ones and some I'm keeping for my next half....

Just a word of caution. Watch out for any Led-Zeppelin (I realize most of you are probably too young to have ever heard of them :) ).

I couldn't resist putting a song with the title "Ramble On" on my playlist. Great pace and beat and all, but then they get to doing their patented left speaker, right speaker, left, right thing. I about fell off the side of the TM in my disoriented state! :lmao:

Love this thread, Cam! I recently discovered fitpod.com - they have free downloads and podcasts of mixes specifically designed for running/walking. The mixes vary in length from 30 min - 1 hour(ish) and have a consistent tempo throughout. Some mixes have warmup, slower tempo periods, then uptempo and cool-down sections.
Tons of music that I have never heard before (downloaded some Turkish pop music the other day), but it certainly keeps you moving through the workout and you get to learn a little culture also!

How cool, Kev! I hadn't heard of that website. I've listened to some of the nike mixes on itunes but wasn't particularly impressed with them. I have also found some techno/dance stuff (especially European) that was very upbeat. And some of the workout mixes that are for step classes have some good songs on them as well.
I decided this morning that some of Brad Paisley's music is rockin' enough to get my butt in gear. ;)

Mike -- your comments about Led Zeppelin had me :rotfl: I guess "Stairway to Heaven" (my favorite LZ) just doesn't work here, does it? :)

Cam - use 'Stairway to Heaven' to cool down! And by the way, ever since you mentioned 'Call Me When You Are Sober' - I hear it ALL the time on the radio!

I thought of another one - heard it on the way to work and have to add it to my playlist: Rod Stewart "Young Turks"

It looks like I'm the one an ipod loaded with 80's hair bands. This is just one playlist, you name the hair band I'm sure I have one song from them. Here's it is, at least a no longer have long hair and a jean jacket full of band patches.:rotfl2:

Talk Dirty to Me - Poison
Looks That Kill - Motley Crue
Love Ain't No Stranger - Whitesnake
Mutha - Extreme
Mental Health - Quiet Riot
Turn Up the Radio - Autograph
Let's get Rocked - Def Leppard
Stagefright - Def Leppard
Holy Diver - Dio
Watch This - Swollen Members (this is actually in the 21 century)
Rock Rock (till you drop) - Def Leppard
My Life Be Like (Ooh Ahh) - The Grits (this is actually in the 21 century)
Once Bitten Twice Shy - Great White
Coming of Age - Damn Yankees
She Dropped the Bomb on Me - Kix
Nobody's Fool - Cinderella
Sister Christian - Night Ranger
Rock of Ages - Def Leppard
Close My Eyes Forever - Lita Ford
Blow my Fuse - Kix
Body Talk - Ratt
Paradise City - Guns N Roses
The Final Countdown - Europe
Livin On a Prayer - Bob Jovi

Scott-I'm with you, I have tons of 80's on mine! Some dont have quite a fast enough beat, so I stagger them for when I need to slow it down a bit!

80's Prince over here! Plus tons of dance tracks like "You Spin Me" and "Shake It Up"

I just made a 2 page list of songs to add to my mp3 player from this thread!

I have tons of 80's hair bands on it. The girl I work with is making fun of me since I am bringing the songs up on youtube. I think I am getting old! :lmao:

Also, I am going to add
AC/DC - Thunderstruck

We air The Tube here at work, and I was watching that & this video came on! I about died!
I MUST find my AC/DC CD!

I use a lot of Van Halen songs on my workouts.

Another One bites the dust - Small Soldiers Soundtrack

Van Halen:

When it's Love
Unchained
jump
Panama
Poundcake
Hot for Teacher
Right Now
DREAMS - my theme song!!

Why can't this be love

Others that jump in:

Bakenaked Ladies: it's All been Done

I have also downloaded BonJovi - Slippery When Wet and will add them to the above playlist.

denise

Bakenaked Ladies: it's All been Done
Thanks for reminding me - I was thinking the other day that I needed to add some BNL!

I also heard another song on the radio the other day & thought it would be good:
Pink - U & Ur Hand
