Magical Gathering coming up with 12 of us...8 kids, four adults.

I think wearing t-shirts - like so many creative people here do:) would be a FUN idea...problem is, my mom and DSIL aren't t-shirt kind of gals:)...fun for the rest of us, but they would be uncomfortable....

and then I saw another poster's trip pic report, and they wore a matching "tropical print" ...shirts for the boys, and one piece dresses for the girls.

Do you do this?
Any suggestions?

TIA!!

Our group consists of 8 kids and 6 adults. I bought t-shirts for 6 of the kids, and jumpers for the two babies. My sisters made fun of me. They said they were going to surprise me with matching purple Minnie Mouse jumpers for all of us adult sis's, too.

I think the kids will be cute.

There was a set of Hawaiian type print outfits for the whole family at the Disney store-- shirts and dresses.

We made matching tye-dyes two years ago. My BIL thought I was nuts. Kids loved it. Go for the tropical look. You will not regret it.

I would only do it one day, because otherwise it gets so expensive. I think tie-dye is a great idea, and so is tropical.

I just picked up summer's end sale shorts and t's for the girls, 5 different sets, so that they'd be the same each day. I just think it's easier, I'll throw each day's clothes into a ziploc and just hand them a bag each morning with shirt, socks, underwear and shorts. "Here you go..." and then keep a spare for each in the diaper bag.

If one of them goes astray, I can point at the other and say "she looks just like this," too (God forbid!).

I think it's a fine idea!

I dress my kids alike so they are easy to spot and so they look cute in the pics (gotta scrap those pages). Dh and I just wear our regular stuff.

I've seen a lot of creative stuff at the parks. You could always just settle on a color and let everyone where the shirt of their choice for those that don't like t-shirts.

I had these great t-shirts to do this one day on our last trip. DD18 absolutely refused to wear her shirt. She finally agreed to put it on once for a family photo, but after all the discussion, the thrill was off for me and I never bothered.

The rest of the kids looked cute in the photos.

I bought the tropical dresses and shirts for my family at the DS and we are going to wear them to 1900 Park Faire for dinner our first night! I am usually not into the matching, but hey, its Disney!!
My husband might put up a fight, but he is going to wear the shirt.

we do the matching thing... it started as "convenience" (if a kid or adult got lost and was asked "what was he/she wearing?" you could just point to yourself and say "THIS!") now we do it for fun! every year sil sends us matching old navy flag shirts, so that's one outfit... i purchased us each a royal blue disney tee shirt, so that's two... a friend's mom is a seamstress and made dd a dress w/matching shorts for ds, and since we so loved them (navy/white hibiscus print!) she made capris/blouse for me, and shorts for dh, so that's three outfits (although the fabric is "too much" so i will wear either my top or bottom w/a coordinating bottom/top, not both together!)... we also all have red tee shirts for another day... so, we do the matching thing and like it! LOL! (although i am sure it won't last much longer, now that dd is getting a sense of style all her own!)

My girls like to dress alike fairly often. Our family of four ended up in the same colors (navy and beige) a couple times on our last trip. We have fun going around looking like a "family unit". I've never tried to get my parents to dress like us even though we've been on a few trips together. Good luck with your group!

Disneystore has the "personalized t-shirts" ON SALE!

We've ordered 12!
So now they won't have a choice...at least for the family picture day;);)

Thanks everyone!!

Count us in! The only draw-back (don't tell on me now....) is that when the kids are acting up, and DH is dealing with them, I can't pretend I'm not with them

LOL

we are going to LOL
when dd 5 saw the planning video last year she wanted us to all wear disney shirts that matched( like the gathering familys on video) DS had sweat shirts and T's on clearance so i picked up 4.
red ones.....side note, someone mentioned above, my DH always wears a wild shirt, something outragous :hyper:

when we go away as a family, incase we get seperated, he is very easy to find! -:wave2:

I have 2 different color Disney tee's for everyone, a matching set of Mickey shirts for the kids, another set of Disney tee's with everyone having their favorite character, one set of t-shirts that I personalized (with a Disney image, family vacation 2004 and our names), the aloha Mickey outfits (shirts for boys, dresses for girls) for all of us and I think that's it.
Dh isn't all that thrilled, but I told him to deal with it- then I bought him a Grumpy shirt!

We are a group of 7 (3 adults/4 kids) and we are coordinating almost everyday!LOL We decided to keep it simple-red shirt day, hawaiian theme day for O'Hana's, safari day for AK, and of course Mickey t-shirt day (a variety of shirts) It was a lot of fun and we really all won't match exactly but we'll be similar.

Leaving in 4 days!!!!!!!!!

My trip is in December. I have'nt done my research yet but I think the matching T-Shirt idea might be out (to cold) for me (Mommy) and my 3 1/2 year old daughter. Any suggestions for us on our trip?

we have never done it but I got blue disney logo sweatshirts for DD and me for December party trip and then saw the sweatshirts go down to something like 7 dollars so got DH a red one. (no more blue) So whether he likes it or not we will all match if it is cool enough to wear them. He will be praying for a heatwave. lol
