Thinking about buying a pair for WDW and was wondering of any pro's/con's? A little expensive so I'm on the fence about buying them.

Thanks!!

I just got my Chaco's tonight! I have the Z1 torreno's (in Sweetwater pink). They are very cute and seem to be pretty comfortable right now, but I've only been wearing them for about an hour. The arch is certainly very high, but I have Plantar Facsiitis and I need a high arch in my shoes. I am planning to try to wear them for a few hours every day for the next week (I can't wear them to work though). I hope that I will get them "broken in" by the time we pack for Disney next week. I am planning to take a couple pairs of Crocs (Beach style) clogs, a pair of Keen Sandals (St. Barts style), and my new Chaco's. This should give me enough choices of GOOD shoes to switch to should one pair become uncomfortable at any time. I think the most important thing to remember when packing shoes for a theme-park vacation (or any vacation involving lot's of time on your feet) is to pack a variety! Even your favorite most well-worn shoes will let you down on occasion! Just be prepared! :thumbsup2

Okay, it's night #2 with my new Chaco's. I think it's going to take a while to get them broken in. They are "OKAY" but certainly not great at this point. I don't feel like I could wear them all day yet. I definitely feel like I would develop blisters. I have several "hot spots". I'm not giving up though! I have read many reviews from folks who said that their Chaco's took weeks (even months for some) to get broken in, but once they are broken in they are paradise on earth and will last for years and years! I got a really good deal on my Chaco's (Z1 torreno style in a really pretty "sweetwater" pink). I got them for $56 and they typically sell for $95. I am willing to continue trying to break them in, even if they don't get to join me in disney next week. I absolutely LOVE the way they look and I love the high arch! But, right now, my Chaco's are rubbing the side of my foot a little bit and when I take them off and slip on my Croc's I will truly be in Paradise! So, for now, my shoe plan for Disney is....2 pairs of Crocs, 1 pair of Birkenstocks (my oldest and most beloved pair), one pair of Keen sandals (which are on order and should be here several days before our Disney trip) and my new Chaco's (which may only be worn for short periods and not in the parks at all...depending on how they feel in a few more days!)

:thumbsup2 I'm a Chaco fan!

While they are on the pricey side- they do last a very long time- I still have my original pair that is at least 10 years old. You can even get them resoled if the webbing is still in good shape.

As the above poster mentioned, they do have a high arch and feel 'firm'. Some people don't like how firm they are but I love it.

I've worn them to Disney before as well and they worked great.

If you buy them from someplace that has a good return policy- you should be able to wear them around in your house for a good while to see how you like them. If you don't think they are for you after wearing them at home- you can bring them back.

Happy Shopping!

Campinggal, Did your first pair of Chaco's take a while to "break-in"? I've read some folks climb right in and never have an issue and others take time (sometimes a long time) to get them to the point where they are comfortable. I typically rule a shoe out if it isn't comfortable when I first put it on, but I am going to bite the bullet with these Chaco's and continue to wear them regardless of the fact that they are rubbing the side of my foot. It's not the straps that are rubbing, but the side of the arch (on the inside of my foot). The rubber is "hugging" my foot as it is designed to do (which doesn't bother me) but when I walk, they rub. I assume over time the footbed will begin to conform to the size of my foot? I have narrow feet, so I don't think it's a shoe sizing issue. The shoe fits very well. The strapping system is great. I have some bodyglide which I think I will try on my feet today (to prevent friction and chaffing). My Chaco's are here to stay (I got a good price....but the store I got them from has an "exchange or store credit only" return policy). I really don't want to return them anyway! I WANT them to get broken in and become my new favorite shoes! They are just so cute in the pink!!! I really do want to love them!
