Campinggal, Did your first pair of Chaco's take a while to "break-in"? I've read some folks climb right in and never have an issue and others take time (sometimes a long time) to get them to the point where they are comfortable. I typically rule a shoe out if it isn't comfortable when I first put it on, but I am going to bite the bullet with these Chaco's and continue to wear them regardless of the fact that they are rubbing the side of my foot. It's not the straps that are rubbing, but the side of the arch (on the inside of my foot). The rubber is "hugging" my foot as it is designed to do (which doesn't bother me) but when I walk, they rub. I assume over time the footbed will begin to conform to the size of my foot? I have narrow feet, so I don't think it's a shoe sizing issue. The shoe fits very well. The strapping system is great. I have some bodyglide which I think I will try on my feet today (to prevent friction and chaffing). My Chaco's are here to stay (I got a good price....but the store I got them from has an "exchange or store credit only" return policy). I really don't want to return them anyway! I WANT them to get broken in and become my new favorite shoes! They are just so cute in the pink!!! I really do want to love them!
