Anyone Wear Chacos in the Parks?

I need new 'park shoes' and think I wear a wide width now. Unfortunately, my beloved Tevas and Keens don't come in wides. I see that Chacos do though. Can anyone tell me about their experience with them?

hi! Chacos are great. We were last there in April 2010 and my husband wore his every single day, with no problems at all. He has the ones that wrap around your big toe (not sure of the model). However, he's been wearing that pair for several years so they were nice and broken in. I also brought my Chacos and wore them on rainy days (only 2 times) as I preferred to wear my beloved Dansko sandals. But Chacos are very comfortable, great arch support, durable. I've read that some people have a hard time with the adjustable straps, but it's never been an issue for us. I would suggest getting them at least a few weeks before you go so that your feet get used to them.
Good luck!

No help on the Chacos, but I have a wide (EE) foot and I'm able to wear Teva Mush no problem

A lot of Keens are naturally wide, so you may want to try them.
I've been looking at Chacos also. Like the idea you can have longer straps put on if needed. They also resole shoes which is kind of interesting.

My DH and I wear our Chacos everyday in WDW. I love them. My feet didn't hurt and I never got even one blister.

I also have wide feet and I tried on the Teva Mush and my feet hung off the sides and the straps were tight. I loved the material, wish they fit better

I bought Reef flip flops from Dick's at the suggestion of some people on this board. While at first they were more comfortable than my cheap Old Navy flip flops, I eventually got blisters the size of quarters on my feet. I've never gotten blisters on my feet from Old Navy flip flops, but my feet do ache in them after wearing them for a while and they are dreadful in the rain. Going in September, I expect a lot of rain. SO I just order some Croc flip flops (Crocband ones) and I will see how those go before I leave. The reviews said they ran wide and were good in water. I am perpetually on the lookout for a good, wide, good-in-rain flip flop :goodvibes

We are going in October and I am contemplating wearing chacos also. I have 9 pair of Keens. :thumbsup2 so I might one pair...

I have normal to slightly narrow feet, and Keens tend to be way too wide for me. I'm guessing you could find some Keens that fit you fine. I have heard of many people who wear and love their Chacos. I'm a Merrell girl myself.

I will be the voice of dissent and say my Chacos aren't really super comfortable. They're okay for a day of shopping maybe but I couldn't do them at Disney.

Good luck with the crocbands...I have them-got a pair last year since the heel didn't cup up like the athens does (I get monster blisters from any shoe that cups my heel) the crocbands do feel good but they have no support to them and aren't anything like a good pair of mush

Me too! I know alot of people recommend the Chacos here on the DIS, but I've bought two different styles and neither are comfortable. I have the Flip Ecotread's with the nylon straps and also have a pair of leather ones (not sure if they're the Etesia or Locavare). I can't wear either for more than a couple of hours before they're rubbing on the sides of my feet. My feet are B width, not wide.

For me the most comfortable flip flops down there are the Olu'Kai Ohanas, Skecher Toneup Glam Punk, Orthoheels, Fit Flop Walkstars, or Montrail Molokinis.
