Anyone watching Big Love??

Last night was great! I almost fell out of my chair when those women shot Roman. These people mean business!

Did any of you guys watch the HBO specials about the show -- one of them was called Big Love: Big Secrets, and it had actual polygamists on talking about the show. It was so interesting. A few of the women on there said the sex scenes were really offensive to them because they said it wouldn't happen in real life since sex was for procreation only. Then there was a former polygamist male who said that was bull... anyone saying it's for procreation only is a liar. Who do you believe?

I hate Bill more and more with each episode. The way he is putting his family at risk is - why???

And Bill's dad just creeps me out.

I'm going to have to go w/the former polygamist. These folks must be some v. horny people b/c obviously, one woman wouldn't satisfy them so they need multitudes. I don't think it's about procreation -- I think it's about having as many partners as possible w/o it being a "sin". So, they come up w/the whole "you can have multiple wives" so it is "clean". I mean, seriously -Bill jumped on Ben for sullying his temple so it has to be about keeping it clean for religion sake and nothing more. Also, doesn't Bill ever want to take a break?! Do you really think that he is trying to procreate everytime he goes at it w/his wives?! I mean, Barb told Rhonda that she can't have children anymore ... so it's sex w/her NOT procreation! If he were having sex for procreation, then he wouldn't be wasting his goods on someone who can't have kids. He already procreated w/Margene but they still have to go at it like nobody's business. If it were for procreation, wouldn't the guy say "OK, I've procreated w/wife #3, so there's no reason to continue to try to procreate w/her" b/c if she's already pregnant". Obviously it's just sex and not procreation if he's continuing w/a woman who is expecting a baby.

The way he is putting his family at risk is - why???

It makes for good television! Seriously ... Don is the smart one who constantly warned him and warned him to stop. He needs to listen to Don a bit more. He's not the goofball that he appears to be.

I believe the guy. Maybe the women need to believe that the sex is about procreation so it'll put their minds at ease when their "husband" is with another "wife." The husband just gets to keep on keeping on.

I thought the scene between Bill/Margene was pretty hot and telling of their relationship. More telling though was the scene with Bill/Nikki where he thought he'd turn her into another "naughty girl" and instead she just liked it missionary, well, sitting up facing him. He's basically telling the 2 of them what they want to hear. Margene wants to be a naughty girl and Nikki wants to be a good girl. He plays them well.

I didn't see that coming with Roman at the end. I figured it would be Bill who'd be shot, at least AT if not hit.

It's interesting how Bill is trying to steer Ben to a life of polygamy and Barb is trying to steer him away. How conflicted will he continue to be? YIKES! At least Barb can know that she saved that poor girlfriend from the Principle.

This season has been awesome, I am so sad there are only a few episodes left!

I do not believe Roman is going to die, there is no way. (unless he just wants out of the contract, which would be crazy... this show is HOT!)

I believe them all. I think for the men, it is definitely about sex (especially with the amount of very young girls who are lead into this sort of marriage) . But, I also think the women were being honest, I think they truly have to believe it is a spiritual, Godly thing.

What about the scene w/Albie taking over for Roman?? What a bunch of weirdos- that scene really creeped me out.

I cannot stand Bill Paxton and cannot even imagine faking any sort of intimacy w/him. I think those girls have to be awfully good actresses to appear so in love w/him and totally into kissing him[/B

I think he is hot..... I'm not an actress and don't play one in real life, but I would kiss him.....


I love Big Love. I think Barb was just trying to get Margene to vote "NO" for the Weber Gaming to get back at Bill for not telling her first....

This show is awesome.....I was surprised about the whole
possible 4th wife.....Bill is a horndog....

His poor son is so conflicted......he says he is "doing it
and can't stop. Well duh
I don't think Roman will die either.....Bill will get caught
with all his shenanigans I think.

I could really see Bill moving back to the compound. In the beginning, I never would have thought I would be saying that, but now that he goes back for the UEB meetings and is getting a taste of the power the leaders have, I could see him moving back to the compound and becoming their leader. Nikki would love it after the way they have treated her, Margene would make the best of it, but I think Barb and the older kids would leave.

If Barb was prepared to leave, I think she would have done it by now. She'd move to the compound if that is what she was told to do, although I like her trying to get Sara into an LDS church.

Albie is just plain creepy. I can't wait for Roman to get better.

I love that Bill's mother learned so much about his father's businesses and will divorce him because she found out she's entitled to half... like the compound would protect her in any divorce decree.

Ben's just jealous that the other guy got Margene to spank him and he can't.

I can't be the only one who watched last night's episode! The looks on those men's faces when Bill introduced his wives was priceless. I can't believe there are only 2 episodes left this season.

So, what do folks think - will they actually kill off the character of Roman?

Rhonda has a great voice. I loved her solo at the end to the show.

I'm trying not to read these posts so I don't get spoilers. I just finished season 1 on DVD, and now I have to wait until season 2 comes out. It's going to be horrible to wait!

I watched it! Alby's wife, wow...she's a nasty one isn't she?

Margene cracks me up. But one thing that sort of bugs me is that it doesn't ring true that they would bring her into the marriage when she does share the same religious beliefs. I imagine that part really pisses off the real-life polygamists (as well as a ton of other ways they are being represented in the show- but that is so glaringly off to me) I just think they would have a more common agreement about the basics.

I don't think they are going to kill off Roman, I think his Nikkis mom is going to somehow intervene. Or at least, I am hoping...I think Romans character adds a lot to the show.

I was impressed by Rhondas voice when she sang at the end. but man, that girl needs a serious smack in the face. I wish Sarah would grow a bigger set and give that girl her just rewards.

I have to say, I think Sarah's character is probably the most realistic on the show.

OH MY! Last nights episode was awesome! I hope Roman survives, in the previews for next week you can hear Alvie saying "give papa back" to someone, so either he lives or they stole his body to prove murder. I can't wait to find out. I hope they expose Rhonda for the snake that she is. And Alvies wife is evil. Pure evil. The show just gets better and better. What about how Wanda is wigging out a little more each week. She looks ready to explode!

I think Albie is going to kill off Roman, and that's why he insisted they bring him home. He wanted Vicodin, Morphine and whatever else they could get for him -- I think he's gonna do him in with pain meds. He's power happy.
(I missed the last few minutes of the episode, so I'm not sure what I missed...)

See, I don't think Albie's going to kill Papa. I think he's going to keep him sedated so he can mess w/Bill. Albie wants the power and until Roman's back in action, he has it. So, what better way to keep Roman down than w/sedatives.

I want Sarah to have a smackdown w/Rhonda. That Rhonda needs to be taken down a few notches ... and it looks like she might be b/c it appeared that Tina Majorino (can't remember her character's name) was talking to her mother in the studio and telling her about Rhonda's threats about spreading rumors that she's a lesbian and wants an intimate relationship w/Sarah.

I was so grossed out when Bill's father told Albie that he wanted Joey's new wife!! Ewwwww!!! That poor, sweet girl ... with Joey's dad. Bleeech!!!! I'll bet Wanda will be happy to have Joey back to herself if that girl ends up having to go w/Joey's dad.

And, I love that Nicky stole the money from the UEB and put on a fancy shindig for Joey, Wanda and wife-to-be! Plus, she's back to ordering more stuff from the catalogs and shipping it off to Joey's. Sneaky, sneaky girl! I was so mad that she gave the info. on Weber Gaming up to Albie. It's not going to be pretty!!!!
