Anyone watching Ben the Bachelor tonight? - NO SPOILERS PLEASE

I think the point of Ben was to get someone "regular". Not super model handsome like Brad or Jake, just a regular sort of nerdy type guy.

I think you're right. Ben is more average and certainly nowhere near as handsome as some of the others.

Which could have been a lot of fun. The problem is that Ben just isn't at all interesting. Or interested.

He is dull dull dull. Seriously, what has he spoken of with any substance to the girls? Nothing.

Every conversation he has is painful to watch, even those with Courtney. He seems incapable of any emotion or even feigning any interest in conversation.

I know. It's like he has some sort of social disorder. Whenever he speaks, I feel like I'm at a business seminar for aluminum siding. He's so cold and boring.

Last night when Nicki was telling him how much she loved him, and he kept nodding his head? I was so uncomfortable watching that, I can only imagine how it felt to be her. How any of them could have fallen in love with him is beyond me.

It was awful...she's pouring her heart out and all he can seem to think about is how quickly he can get her into the hot tub. I don't see how these girls can be so smitten with him either. What is he offering them besides the use of his flat iron?

I think the only bachelor I liked that seemed genuine was Andrew Firestone.

Taking Emily to view Titanic 'so she could find love like that' seemed like a strange move.

How many times does have Ben have to be 'warned' about Courtney? At this point, I hope he ends up with her just so we can all witness their 'relationship' once the finale is over.

They tried that. It was called The Average Joe. Lasted four seasons. Usually ended with the pretty people winning out over the average ones.

I liked her, too - I've not been watching a lot of this season as Ben & the "ladies" are particularly hard to watch. I hope Emily classes it up a bit. But I guess is class really possible when you're throwing yourself at someone on a TV show??

Imho, Kacie is a loose cannon. She proved just how young and inexperienced she is by flying across the Atlantiic Ocean for a 5 minute explanation from Ben. "Hello, your family is crazy and apparently you are too!"

I'm sure filming took longer than 5 minutes. And I'm guessing they paid and gave her some time in Switzerland. At this point, where they take the Bachelors/Bachelorettes all over the world, if nothing else, these people get to see places they'd probably otherwise never see. It's probably more of a contest now to see how far into the season they can get, and therefore, how many places they can visit.

My big question is why they picked Ben as the Bachelor? Was he that popular at the end of last season?

I was stunned last season that he got as far as he did, and to top it off, they picked him to be The Bachelor. Still amazed. I can't imagine that he was popular among viewers, or the producers. Maybe it was just their new angle for this season...they brainstormed and said "Hey, he's unattractive and a bore, but we'll spice things up with a kooky model who's willing to get naked."

Yeah, how is Emily going to pull off the good girl, good mommy thing while "dating" 25 men? And what I find happening with these seasons where they recycle a former contestant is that if I even vaguely like them when they were one of the 25, I end up really NOT liking them when they have their own season. It's like the obnoxious comes out in all of them.

Would love to see Kirk as The Bachelor...I just loved him. But, I don't want to end up hating him. LOL

And now that he's down to two women, aren't they supposed to meet HIS family? Did they show that in the previews?

Thanks! I don't usually look at them, unless there's a link on another thread to something going on, so thanks for the warning.

I hope hope hope that this women aren't all wishy washy and gaga over Ben, and forgiving and understanding of his NEED to find love and his future wife, which REQUIRED him to go skinny dipping with Courtney, or completely lay all the blame for that incident on Courtney. As I said before, there needs to be a Dr Phil van waiting outside for those girls.

I had to watch in two parts because the cable and internet went out from a snowstorm, and by the time I got time to comment, I figured I'd be beating a dead horse.

The scenery in Switzerland was beautiful! The hot tub dates were so boring, and It seemed liked Ben was just there to see who he could sleep with.
Kacie's scene was interesting. There was so much she could have said - maybe the producers cut it out - why didn't she tell him about "winning!" Courtney said it out loud when she was fighting with Emily. It sure looked real when Kacie was laying in the hall - thought she was going to pass out - but maybe she just hadn't eaten.
I thought it was strange they didn't show them meeting his family. I will miss the end until I can watch online - heading to Hawaii on Monday - Aloha and enjoy everyone!

Just wanted to say that now that it's March, you must be all excited and in countdown to baby mode!

I sure am. She sends me messages everyday to let me know how she's feeling. She's been getting a lot of Braxton Hicks and some that she says seem different. She's due the 18th, but we all know it gets to a point where that date doesn't matter so much. I'm due to leave here on the 12th, but I figure I better get things in order here just in case I have to bug out early. I have a feeling she is going to go early.
