Anyone watching Ben the Bachelor tonight? - NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Regarding Chris Harrison: “Ladies, Ben, it’s the final rose tonight. When you’re ready. I was here just 12 seconds ago, but I had to remind you that when there’s four women, and two roses were already given out, that means there’s only one left. I sure hope you guys realize how important I am to this franchise.”

I'm hating on Chris this season almost as much as I'm hating on Ben and Courtney. I've been disgusted with him the last couple of seasons but this season when he made such a production of that other Casie having a boyfriend I figured he's long since sold his soul to the devil.

Can we be careful about making remarks about the spoiler link so nothing inadvertently slips.

A few years back the Patriots were in a playoff game and I had recorded it and was a bit behind so I still didn't know if they had won. My son came home from work and as soon as he walked in I said 'Don't say anything about the game, I'm still watching it." He worked at Applebees so I knew he would know. He started to say something and I shushed him, started again and I shushed him again. He said "Mom, I don't know who won, all I know is they play the Steelers next week." By him saying that I knew they had won because if they hadn't they wouldn't be playing at all the following week.

The point is, that even though he wasn't telling me how won, he inadvertently did by saying what he did. So can we be careful about saying something that could give it away unintentionally.

Yes, that happened when people mentioned they knew who the final 4 were and that there was no big surprise, or that they were disappointed in Ben.

It seemed to me then that Courtney had obviously made it to the final four, or that would have been a big surprise. Plus any of the other girls probably wouldn't have been a disappointment - except of course, none of us want him to end up with anyone nice now.

No no no, I understand completely. I just wanted to say something before possibly a lot more people looked and made comments. I'm like you, I want to know, I want it to be done, but I'm just mesmerized by this season. Not because it's good but because of the trainwreck it is.

On the 'next week on the Bachelor' they show someone coming to Bens door. They did not show us who. If on GMA (could care less it's ABC still) and they show who it is, then yes it's a spoiler. They are spoiling the surprise. How can it possibly not be seen as a spoiler?

Semantics. We still have the choice whether we want to see what the producers released. All that we are saying is we don't want to see that release here. Like I said before, if I was watching GMA and they were getting ready to show that clip I would have changed the channel because I want to wait until next week to see who it is. I'll bet dollars to donuts that clip will not be seen on any ads during the next week. They will still show just the legs of someone coming to Bens door.

The difference between a spoiler and what's not a spoiler is a vicious cycle that goes round and round for multiple shows each season. I don't think you can get everyone to agree on the difference because it's all in a person's perspective.

Sheesh. For a show that people complain about how awful it is they sure are protective of it. I didn't pull it off Reality Steve. I didn't scour the internet to ruin the show for the masses. I watched a national news program. Get a grip. I didn't post a thing nor will I. Now I'll scurry off to the corner for my time out.

If you want to discuss parts of the show before the actual air date, then there are other threads for that. Personally I don't care either way, because I think the editing gives the ending away, but some people do. So who cares if they consider GMA to be a spoiler.

ITA. I obviously watched the link but since other people have a problem with it, I didn't discuss it. Once it airs I will share with people what I thought when I saw it.

FTR, this happens every season. I remember on Jake's season the cat was out of the bag right about this time too. Mostly from quoted white fonts and people who say "I don't believe Jake picked her!"

Some people's perspective is that since this is turning out to be such a crappy season, that what few highlights & surprises there are, we'd like to have to look forward to them, as there is little else, beside chatting with others on this thread, that keeps us watching.

You mentioned twice that it was on a national news show, like it was televised as much as Whitney Houston's death.

If it spoils it for some people, then it IS a spoiler. It doesn't matter what network showed it. Those people DON'T want to know. It's common courtesy, which it seems that most people understand since it hasn't been posted.
