I'm assuming this is doable, just wondered if anyone has done it before and whether you can hear the music too.

We were at the beach club last year and although we could see the tips of the fireworks I wouldn't say we could 'see' illuminations because the buildings were blocking it. I can't remember whether the music was loud enough to hear ..

most of the show takes place on the water, or at water level.
You'll only see the higher fireworks which means you'll see almost nothing.
There are trees or buildings blocking the view.

if you have a valid ticket for the day (e.g. ultimate tickets), just go through International Gateway for the show, it'll only be a short walk from BC/YC, but don't expect to be able to see the show from anywhere outside of epcot (with a good enough view, that is)

We stayed at the yacht club last year and I watched Illuminations several times from our room balcony. I agree with pp that you can only see the big explosions and the lasers but the music is loud enough to hear. I wouldn't have thought you be able to see them if you we're on the ground or 1st floor but we were on the 2nd floor and were lucky enough to get an Epcot view room. I do have some photos that I took of the fireworks from our balcony which I'll post when I get home later so you can see what the view is like.

We had EPCOT view from our YC room too, and as pp said we could see the high fireworks and just about hear the music.I remember standing on the bridge between BC and Boardwalk and being able see a bit more, you can also see bits from the beach. If you can get into EPCOT the closest best place to stand is the bridge between Uk and France.

and one tip....

check the wind direction. We decided to stand on the bridge one year, then noticed that the fire cauldron thingy's around the lake were blowing in our direction, so we moved a little around the lake. The poor folks on the bridge couldn't see a thing after the first firework as the smoke just lingered in that direction, they soon moved! :)

Thanks for all your comments. We will see it on the first night of the holiday, I was just thinking about the rest of the holiday and lazy resort evenings. Thanks for posting the photos, it looks good. Will be interesting to see what sort of room we get....

We booked a standard view room and got upgraded to a view almost identical to the one in the photo above, it was amazing. So hopefully you might get lucky too:tink:

We also had booked a standard view room and obviously got upgraded to a wonderful Epcot view. We were celebrating both mine and DH birthday, which obviously I did mention ;) also I asked for a room with a day bed so the boys could have a bed each ....... I don't know if this made any difference when we were allocated our room.
