Anyone watch The Tudors...

I'm in the middle of Allison Weir's The Six Wives of Henry VIII right now. I'm really enjoying it.

I have a degree in history, but only concentrated on American history. Since I've been watching the Tudors I've gotten really interested in the English history. I cant' wait to read some more of her stuff.

Forget Jonathan Rhys Meyers....give me Henry Cavill!!!

Has anyone read Alison Weir's books? I'm thinking of reading some of her royal biographies.

Alison Weir's books are really good. I enjoyed the Six Wives of Henry VIII, the Children of Henry VIII, The Wars of the Roses, and the Princes in the Tower.

She also has a couple of novels, which are very entertaining. Innocent Traitor, which is about Lady Jane Grey, and The Lady Elizabeth, which covers Elizabeth I from around age 10 to when she took the crown.

I did not watch the first two seasons of the Tudors, but am watching the third. I already know the whole story so I figured I would catch on quickly.

I SO need to get into this show! I love that time in history... I might rent Season 1 this weekend so that I can get started! I don't have Showtime... :sad1:

I'm waiting impatiently for Netflix to send me the first disc from season 1. "Long Wait" according to them - Grrrr, I want it now!

I love the Tudors but what I like to do wait until it comes out on dvd so I can just sit and watch the whole thing at once. I hate waiting week to week. Also I like the dvd because it gives all the behind the scences stuff. I am wondering how they will ugly up Henry...mabye they will do it like they used ot in the old movies ..make him "ugly" by making a little mark on his face and keeping the rest of him "beautiful".

I love this show, but I hate the way everyone is so beautiful. Okay, well there is a part of me who likes it, especially Jonathan Rhys. Mmmmm.

Same here! I'm a huge history buff and I love the real Tudors.. but I don't have Showtime either. I know what I'm doing this weekend! Blockbuster here I come! :cool1:

Absolutely LOVE the TUDORS!!!

I have my whole family addicted to it. And like others here have posted, I will rewatch episodes over and over. I always seem to miss something some one has said!! :happytv:

OMG, I just love this show. I just received Season 2 Disc 2 from Netflix today, I am going to run home and watch it. I agree Henry Cavil is better looking than Jonathan Rhys, but he isn't bad looking.

I don't know what I am going to do when I get finished watching them from Netflix and Season 3 is just coming out on Showtime.

I had never heard of the show until FeralPeg mentioned it here and I just had to check it out after seeing the Other Boleyn Girl.

I was sitting here watching a perfectly good Fred Astaire/ Ginger Rogers movie, and catching up on this thread made me want to see if The Tudors was on now. It is! Sorry Fred and Ginger. I've only seen The Tudors like 3 or 4 times since Sunday. That's the good thing about Showtime. They air it over and over.

I think I either read or saw as part of the bonus features on the season 2 disc that JRM said he wasn't going to go all ugly Henry. That suits me just fine.;) It doesn't need to be THAT historically accurate.

Wow, we did not do much posting on this thread...

The season is over. I miss it. I love the TUDORS!

2010 and counting.........

Was last night's episode the last one for this season? I thought there were going to be 10 episodes like the first 2 seasons.

Did I miss something. I don't get Showtime, so I have to find it online to watch.

I just watched last Sunday's episode last night and haven't seen last night's episode. I thought there was 1 more episode, according to last week's episode, there are 2 left :confused3

Season 3 hasn't started in the UK, but I did Tudor History for 2 years, it's not like reading this is gonna spoil the plot! ;)

Forget Jonathan Rhys Meyers....give me Henry Cavill!!!

Season One, Henry was my man, Series two definite change to Cavill!

I know!! I was thinking about that last night when they showed the festering wound. :scared: That's one place they could take some artistic liberty with the facts and it would be okay with me.

Oh, and I agree, Henry Cavill is my other favorite thing about the show!:thumbsup2 That and the gorgeous costumes.:lovestruc

 They do take history with a pinch of salt, I often play 'spot the historical inaccuracy', the first point is always that they are clean!! :lmao:

My housemate objected a lot to the first season and the Margaret being sent to Portugal (he is Portuguese) firstly as they have combine Mary and Margaret's characters together, 2) they don't marry anyone off to Portugal!

I love this show, but I hate the way everyone is so beautiful. Okay, well there is a part of me who likes it, especially Jonathan Rhys. Mmmmm.

Yep, very historically incorrect! Where are the pox marks people! :rolleyes1

You can watch Season 3 on WatchtheTudors.com, that is what I have to do since I don't get Showtime and I couldn't wait until it was released on DVD to see it.

I know it isn't historically correct, but it sure is a great show. Dh just rolls his eyes at me when I watch it, but I know he was sorta interested too.

I'm so sad the season is almost over. I'm really going to miss my Tudors. :sad1: :sad1:Has it been picked up for season 4 yet? I really hope so.

I recently read that production would begin in June 2009 for Season 4, somewhere on the net.

Thanks for posting that website. I love this show but have to wait for DVD release since I don't have Showtime. Now I can drool over the hot Tudors.:rotfl:

From Showtime's website....they are stating that there are 8 episodes.

This is the recap of the episode I watched last night on 05/17/09. In episode 308, Henry moves swiftly to annul his loveless marriage to Anne of Cleves, and beds a new mistress, 17-year-old Katherine Howard; Princess Mary falls in love with Duke Philip of Bavaria; Cromwell's fall from favor is sudden and dramatic.
BUT on the website it states this will be shown on 05/24/09....??? But like I said I watched this LAST night. ::yes:: So I thought I was watching the Finale!!! :confused3

Here is the link... http://www.sho.com/site/tudors/home.do

Soooooo....I am totally confused now.

HELP!!!!!

I am curious as to WHAT episode will air this Sunday night.

Like I said I saw the FINALE last week (Sun May 17th). As a matter of fact the end went right to a red screen with no coming previews!!!!

This is still confusing if you all are getting more episodes than I am in SoCal. :confused3
