I didn't actually watch really, I fast forwarded through most of it...I never heard of anyone up for best new artist...where is the "old lady" smilie when you need it?....but Lady Gaga, or whoever that was, was kinda ummmmmmm, interesting. Adele was awesome and the Britney Spears tribute was kinda fun. Beyonce was good, bun in the oven and all. The Amy Winehouse tribute was different. Love her or hate her, Katy Perry is very cute. Who else could pull off a bright yellow box on their head?

Has it been a whole year since the Meat Dress??????

Adele was A M A Z I N G!

I thought Young the Giant was great too.

Bruno Mars was good

Beyonce was ok.

Lady Gaga was self indulgent and even worse....boring.

The rest was a mess.

Thank God for DVR b/c I skipped most of it. Adele was flawless as always. Bruno was fantastic. I'm not a Beyonce fan, but she did very well! I like GaGa vocally but she's just scary. I haven't and won't support her financially by purchasing any of her work. The Britney appreciation performance was disappointing. Everything else was a train wreck.

Dunno what happened to her leg. But that girl squelching was Jessie J

Who was the women singing in the white chair and what happened to her leg?

She broke her ankle....she said she was at home feeling sorry for herself and then decided to stop wallowing and go to the VMA's.

That Adele song is amazing. Makes me cry when I hear it, seeing her perform was breathtaking.

Poor Brit didn't even get to give her speech, she had to introduce Beyonce.

Mostly the show was pretty dull. Gaga needs to take a break and try and find her creativity again. Last night was like she decided to quit copying Madonna and instead went for the Annie Lennox as a man look. It has become like she is just trying too hard for weird/shock and not all that interesting.

I thought having Bruno Mars doing the Amy Winehouse tribute was a little sick - guy was busted for coke possesion not that long ago. He is also no where near a jazz type artist, so why pick him over someone who would actually sing it better?

I'm afraid I'm in the small group who doesn't much like Adele's voice. It's great that she really sings (no autotune or lipsync - yay!) but the tone/quality of her voice just isn't my thing. That particular song just seems to go on and on and on. I know a lot of people love her voice, so it's pretty much just a personal preference thing.

I thought the lady gaga performance was awesome and very creative.... Not just weird like usual.

I caught the highlights on YouTube.

Adele, flawless as usual. Stunning.

Beyonce was cute - she's very excited about that baby & it was fun to let the audience "share" their excitement.

Oh Lady GaGa.....what to say?! I can appreciate changing things up every now & again but every single flipping time you go anywhere?!?! It's getting old.

The rest of those fools don't even belong in the same company as Adele. This hip hop crap has to go. I do love the Pitbull and Neo combo tho. But they all really think they are something. Is the crowd serious?

And Justin Bieber, you're not Elton John. Don't try to look like him. Thanks. ;)

:lmao:

I absolutely cannot staaaaaaaaaaaaand Justin Beiber. Isn't his 15 minutes up yet? I know he's a "teen" idol, but I still don't get it, he looks like he's 12 and acts like it. He brought a pet snake to the awards, when someone asked him "What's your snake's name?" he answered "Johnson" and giggled. :sad2:

I'm afraid my days of watching the VMA's are long gone. I miss the days when MTV played music videos all day. I miss the days of Duran Duran and Def Leppard. I miss Pat Benetar too.:sad2: Sadly those days are long gone.

Couldn't agree more!!!!
