KONA!!!
I think this is a fantastic restaurant. We are going to eat there again in 32 days - then again on December 2nd before MVMCP. The service is great, food is always very good. I love the sticky wings! The Poly is such a pretty place and at night the boat dock couldn't be more romantic. I am smidge disappointed that they got rid of the macadamia chocolate dessert but I'm anxious to try the new fondue. I hope you try it!
We just got back and Kona was the best meal of our trip. We'd never been before, and it was AWESOME! Every morsel was delicious and well-prepared. I can't speak about lunch, but I assume it would be just as good.
We did dinner there only. We are doing lunch there in December. The steaks aren't on the lunch menu but they certainly have some other good options. They lean a bit more towards sandwiches and noodles. I posted our desserts - only pictures I took.
We've had breakfast and dinner there and loved both. Kona will always be on our list of repeat places. The service is great and the food is fresh.
When we had dinner there my DH was not happy with his meal, he likes everything piping hot, and they took it back and brought him a new one. He just thought they would heat it up, which would have been fine by him. Also, my DD wanted a smoothie and our server did a little fiddling with our check so that she could have one. We were on the DDP and the smoothie was not part of her meal.
Overall I thought it was a lovely restaurant. My dish was a little too sweet, along with everything else, but Kona had DBF favorite dish: the macademia nut Mahi mahi.
I had the Barbecued Pork Lettuce Wraps and LOVED them!!!
DH had the Kona Club sandwich and he was very happy with it, too:
The Kona Cafe is our all-around favorite restaurant at WDW. If you go to my web site (the link is below), click on the "Disney World Vacations" link, then find the links to all of the restaurants we've dined at, including the Kona Cafe, and you can see all of our food pics. Enjoy!
Simply put, we have eaten at every single Disney Resort restaurant in the US, and Kona is my absolute favorite! It is one of the things I look forward to almost as much as seeing the castle for the first time.
