Anyone waiting for AP rates after 8/8?

I've not had any problems checking online. However, we only needed 8/21 and there is nothing affordable available that night or that weekend. No values and no mod standard rooms. Looks like that weekend is going to be very crowded.

Thank you DISers! :worship::worship:Thanks to you, I checked the AP rate. According to the Passholder site, this new rate is a few bucks cheaper than my 40% PIN (42% off AKL). So I called (I also couldn't pull my dates on the website - got the "system error").

With my PIN, I could only get a pool view at AKL with bunk beds. Since my kid sleeps in a raised twin all year at college, she immediately nixed the idea of bunk beds! :lmao: So I booked a standard view room.

Well, now a pool view room with 2 queens opened up for the AP code, so I booked it at the same rate as I had been paying for the standard room! Yes, the standard room with the AP rate would have been cheaper, but since I had already budgeted the higher amount, I just went ahead! So excited! :yay::cheer2:

Not sure why you cant pull it up... what dates are you looking for? I just tried again, and i was able to pull it up. Weird??

Hi, Thanks for the reply. It took 7 hours, but I am finally able to see the rates for all resorts and have successfully gotten my AP rate resort viewing fix for the day. :)

Congrats! Isn't it fun to have something a little extra special? Enjoy your pool view. :)

I'd already applied the Disney Visa code, but the AP rate was slightly better. Got 7 nights in a CBR pirate room in September (std. view) for $114/night. The AP rate ended up saving me an extra $65 over the Disney Visa code and a whopping $465 off the original cost.

Is that pre-tax? We booked a CBR pirate room with the 40% off pin and it's $114/night pretax so I'm figured the AP rate is the same and there's no point in calling back to change it, right?

Tried to get the AP rate at POFQ for my trip in September and they didn't have any availablilty. When the CM priced Coronado Springs it was a lot more than I'm paying now and all they had was a king bed room. Oh well... sticking to what I have :)

I got an AP savannah view and it was only about 26%...the pool view was only 20%...so I don't understand where you got 42%...would you mind sharing what your actual rate was?

I had my husband call since he was up at 5 a.m. our time anyway :cool1: When we first booked at CSR our arrival day of Aug 22 wasn't included in our pin offer, so we went with a AAA rate of $119 and had two reservations. This morning we were able to change that first day to the $89 rate we have for the rest of the week, and add it to the other reservation so now we just have one.

n2mm, I realize you're looking for the 21st, but we did get this rate that weekend on our standard room at CSR.

Pool view, 2 queen beds, $144/night pre-tax.

The AP website says:
8/9-8/18, 8/22-9/23, 9/27-10/01 standard rooms 40% off $89.00
10/02-10/03 standard rooms 47% off $89.00

I needed 09/26-10/04 at CSR. I called anyway and got a fantastic CM who ran all the numbers for me. She checked on 09/26 and it is available with an AP discount code, just not for a standard room (King room only)

I already had a standard room at CSR with free dining (basic plan) and a one day MYW ticket for $1422.07.

She checked on the Chase Visa code for me, but only King rooms were available, no Standard rooms and I would still have to buy a one day MYW park ticket, so the Visa offer round up being more than my free dining offer. No thanks! By the way she checked all of the moderates for my dates just to see what the price would have been and said that there are no longer any standard rooms available at any moderate for my dates under the Chase Visa offer.

She then ran the numbers for the AP discount. A King room for the entire 8 nights would be higher than my current free dining offer, but a King room for 9/26, then switching to a Standard room for 9/27-10/4 (with the basic DDP) saved me $271.02. If I did the basic DDP for just the first night, then upgraded to the DxDDP for seven nights the price was still only $1375.38 (less than my free dining pkg).

Using the AP discount instead of the free dining plan I was able to upgrade to the DxDDP for less than what I had the free basic DDP for and still get $46.69 credited back to my card.:cool1:

Of course today I had to be gone most of the day...but I got CBR for our dates at 89. a night. It was the only thing available.

I've never been there, so I'm hoping it's nice!!

(I talked to the most wonderful CM who told me that people book the first day all the time and then cancel, and to keep checking for POR because it could very well open back up...so I'm crossing my fingers...)

:) Yay!! We're going to Disneyworld!! :cutie:

I have stayed at both POR & CBR. I liked CBR better. I loved the Caribbean theme! And for $89 a night...THAT ROCKS!!!

ACK! I said CBR, but I meant CSR...(I think I was projecting what I had rather it had been!)

It's Coronodo Springs...have you stayed there too?
(ETA, Disneyland is my "home" park, I lived out there for years...I hope you have a blast!!) :upsidedow

Thank you though!! (That was a big DUH on my part!)

I have been there twice. First time was great, 2nd time ok (it was right before the non-smoking rooms went into effect and we got a room that REAKED!!). They just redid most of the resort and from what I have seen, the new rooms look great. The grounds are beautiful and l love the bus stops and the main pool. The only negative is the food court. It isn't owned by Disney and is run a little bit differently. You have to be seated and then go to the station to get your food and get a stamp on a card. When you leave, you hand in the card and then pay for it. You have to pay a gratuity as someone brings you your drinks. I am sure you will have a blast & enjoy CSR!

The CM did say the new rooms were really great...Thank you for the run down...The food court thing doesn't thrill me. (I love POR's food court...it just seems perfect)

I need to go over to the resort board and do some exploring...to see what I can find out..

Just got CSR for $89 dollars a night. Had to switch from POFQ because they had nothing available at that rate but I love them both equally. Saved over $200.

Thanks so much for the info. They quoted me 195 pre tax for pool view...wonder why?

Hmmmm - I had the same thing quoted with $144 for a standard view

Did you use code EQA? First, when I called, the CM (who was wonderful, BTW) told me that the rate was the same as my PIN code. I said, "Oh. The website says AKL standard for $139, and I'm paying a little more than that." She checked again, with the code I gave her, and found the rooms for less.

Might you also have been looking at bunk bed rooms? Those are apparently more expensive! (The $144 for a standard room is what I had booked with my PIN.)

I loved CSR when we stayed there in January. I was all set to stay there again with FD (but the codes made it possible for me to upgrade to a deluxe - I'm not sure I'll have the option again any time soon). It's a beautiful resort, very peaceful and a pleasure to walk around. The Dig Site is fabulous, with a great slide and a wonderful bar!

About the food court (the Pepper Market): First, if you're on the dining plan, you don't pay the 10%; it's included. Second, if you get your food to go, you don't pay the 10%. We loved sitting out near the lake eating breakfast.

And third, the set up is not really that much different than other food courts. There are different stations and you wait for your food in each area. Yes, they stamp your card, which indicates how much the food costs. The major difference between the way it's set up is that at regular food courts, you get your food, pay and then find a table & eat. At the Pepper Market, you get your food, find a table & eat, and then pay for it. (The other difference is that your food is cooked fresh at the Pepper Market; very few heat lamps.)

Enjoy your stay at CSR!
