Anyone waiting for AP rates after 8/8?

The 35% for Visa holders is going to be thrown open to the G.P. as of Thursday according to Mousesavers

I'm waiting too - we found really cheap flight to go down in August (22nd) but are booked at OKW for the 23rd, so we need a cheap room for one night. (Gee, darn, an extra night at Disney!!!) I was sure the AP rates would be out by now, so here I am waiting (im)patiently with all you guys. :rolleyes1

Hi,
Just wanted to know....

When you book an AP discount do you need to show any kind of proof???

Thanks

I saw that too on Mousesavers but I'm puzzled as to the rates they quote. If its 35% off the rack rate, a Value resort during that time of year (value season) is $82, and 35% off of that would be $53.30, and yet its saying $69? That doesn't make any sense! I realize weekend rates are higher, but that's a $16 difference. :confused3

Well my fellow diser know I haven't been waitng pateintly at all for an AP discount:goodvibes
But I do really think tomorrow will be the day:wizard: I did change my ressie using the disney visa discount(just so I would at least some type of discount)and will hopefully be able to change it to an AP discount.

This is from the Visa website:

Save 35% on room rates at select Disney Resorts.

With savings this magical, why not delight your family with an enchanting getaway this fall?

Select Disney Moderate Resorts
$96 per night plus tax for stays most nights 8/9-8/18 and 8/22-10/3/2009 in a standard room.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort or Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
$169 per night plus tax for stays most nights 8/9-10/3/2009 in a studio.

Ask about other resort categories at varying discounted rates

So, it's not 35% on every resort or room type, just the ones listed. Others may be discounted, but it varies (according to this).

Yah I have been thinking about this since yesterday. Its not the best deal on a value resort. I was thinking with this visa offer being so high in price that maybe the AP rate for the value will be lower than what was released last yr. As of now there is only a 5$ difference between what they are going to offer to the GPublic vrs the AP holders. So MAYBE the AP rates will be 59 for a value and 89 for a moderate(hey a girl can always dream:cloud9:)

We'll just have to wait and see:surfweb:

I like your logic. So if the GP rates come out on Thursday, when will the AP rates come out? It's unusual for the GP rates to come out BEFORE the AP rates.

We are waiting too ...we are staying at AKL from August 13th-17th in a studio and we can get cheaper airfare to arrive on the 12th, so we were hoping there would be AP rates out there but nothing so far. And my husband received a mailer with the 40% off pin which we can use to stay onsite cheaper too ...just trying to be patient, we only need one night is that too much to ask???:confused3 Just waiting to see which is cheaper, Ap rate or the 40% off ...guess it would depend on which resort we decide to stay at too:)

Well we are not waiting anymore for AP rate. My wife received a pin code for 40%. We had to modify our dates and resort. Instead of the WL from Dec. 3rd to 8th we are now booked at Beach club from Nov. 29th to Dec. 6th! WL, poly, and contemporary were all booked up for that time for the pin code. We saved $134 off the room price per night, $201 a night!

IMHO- AP rates will be out tomorrow before they offer the GP rate on Thursday.
Usually there has been a week difference between AP codes and GP codes But this yr has been so different with all the personal pins going out/extending FD booking dates that it has been very unpredictable as to what disney will do next.

Someone asked a similar question a couple of pages ago, I'll just paste what I said back there - Here: :goodvibes

You can book the AP rate without having the AP. You can get your AP "voucher" beforehand (because you wouldn't want your AP year to "start" until you actually arrive at Disney). Then you can take your voucher to guest services at either DTD or one of the guest relations at the theme park, and they will give you your AP at that time. Or, you can just buy your AP when you get there and not get the voucher, do what you are comfortable with, except - - if you buy "now" you can avoid potential ticket increase, you will be locked into today's price no matter when in the future you turn in the voucher (that's a good thing!).

From what I understand, you have to have your "real" AP in hand when you check in at your resort, but I have heard that occasionally the CM will let you check in with the voucher (but don't count on it). You would arrive at Disney, turn in your voucher for an AP, and then go back to the resort to check in.

The info is a little different on Mousesavers....

"Availability is limited and some dates during this span are blocked out. These rates can also be booked as part of a vacation package.

Sample rates:

* Value resort, Standard view: $69 plus tax

* Moderate resort, Standard view: $96 plus tax
* Saratoga Springs, Studio: $169 plus tax
* Other resorts and room types are available

So I gathered from this that Value's were included. :confused3 But perhaps that was mere speculation on their part......so I would hold the Visa website more accurate then since it is after all 'their' discount. ;)

Oooooh, i hope so!!!

Usually in September we pay between $49 and $59 + tax for a standard room at a value, however, value rooms seem pretty booked up this year compared to other years, so maybe Disney doesnt have to offer such deep discounts? Just a thought.

The values are included, but not at 35%.

I'm truly surprised that AP rates are not out yet. I also expect them tomorrow morning, and have my alarm set so I can hopefully snag what I need before I leave for work. :goodvibes

Hopefully this will be us tomorrow morning: :dance3:

Well I'm off to bed soon and will be setting an alarm to get up and change my ressie to an AP rate(I hope) if there not out tomorrow I might just loose it:rolleyes1
Wishing everyone magical dreams and a great rate tomorrow morning:cloud9:

I'll be seeing ya tomorrow! I also have to call DVC to book my January trip tomorrow since it's my 7 month window. (at least that doesn't cost me anything, just points.)
