Anyone using the BABY TREND DOUBLE JOGGER?

We have 2 ds's (10mos & 4yrs), and have been very reluctant on buying a double stroller for the boys. So..that led me to Babiesrus to try out the doubles. Baby Trend is $179, and is actually pretty cool. I love the price compared to the other doubles (200-500):scared1: . I see where the money goes on the higher end doubles (better harness, trendy material, smaller framing..etc). But I know that I will more then likely not use the stroller outside of Disney..my older ds wants to "walk by myself":snooty: ..whatever. But is quick to say pick me up when he is tired...that being said, we need a double stroller for Disney.
What are your thought if you have a Baby Trend Double Jogger? Good, bad, indifferent...give it to me. Thanks in advance.

I don't have a baby trend double jogger, but I have the InStep Safari Double Jogger(lower end by Schwinn). I LOVE IT and can't wait to take it to Disney this summer. It is a little lacking on storage in my opinion, but very easily maneuverable. I feel like I got great value for what I paid. I use it when we go for walks...my 4 y/o also likes to walk, but then when he's tired, he can just hop in! I make sure I take it if there's any chance he will want a ride at some point!

I'm sorry I don't have personal experience w/ the Baby Trend, but I would say that you probably want to make sure it does have a swivel front wheel so that you can turn w/out having to pop a wheelie every time you have to turn or maneuver! It's worth a few extra $$ for the swivel!

I have an older baby trend single stroller and it has held up well for many years of use if that's any testament to the quality??

Hope that helps in some way ........just my 2 cents worth!

If you really think you'll only use it in WDW why not just rent there? It's a pain in the butt to fold up a big stroller whether you take Disney transportation or park from off site and ride trams. We did it once and vowed never again. Luckily we only paid $20 at a yard sale and left it at the rental home we were staying in.

Be careful about bringing a large jogging stroller to WDW. Sometimes they won't allow them into the park and will offer you a rental to use instead and store yours while you are in the park. The bigger jogging type strollers are hard to maneuver in the crowds, especially those double ones.

And, like ruadisneyfan2 says, those big strollers are a big pain if you are riding on a bus or taking the monorail.

If you really need a double stroller, get one that sits the kids front to back instead of side by side.

We actually got the Baby Trend Double Jogger, but will return it. The front swivel wheel shakes uncontrollably for some reason, and I've read that others have had the same problem too. For that price, I want something that's stable and doesn't feel like it's falling apart.

Thanks for replying, I really appreciate your time and thoughts. I was actually considering the Shwinn joggers also..but didn't want to spend that much. They are super cute, and I have read reviews that owners really loved them. I just can not see myself using the jogger at home. What we do now is umbrella stroller and carrier if I'm somewhere with both kids. Or just the Graco (big boy stroller) if I have only the baby. The Baby trend does have the front swivel, and that is what sold me right away. Again, Thanks for your time.

The rentals are not good for my baby. While he will be celebrating his 1st birthday while at Disney..he loves his naps, and the hard plastic is not going to get it for him. I actually used one last year with my then 3yr old ds for one day, and I'm not a fan. While it was ok for a 3 yr old, not (in my opinion) for a younger baby. I used my Graco, the last 2 years with my older ds, and it really wasn't bad for us. I just didn't want to lug 2 strollers to Disney this time...and 2 car seats! Thanks for your help

The Baby trend can fit through a average sized door frame. This was actually one of the reasons I gravitated to it. The monorail is a concern, but we were okay the last 2 years with the "BIG" Graco, and this one is no wider or heavier than that. I won't be lugging it anyway :goodvibes . I would never consider the tandem doubles, especially at Disney. My thoughts are to provide an optimum view for both kids, have plenty of storage, and easy access to take the children out of the stroller quickly for rides. Thanks for your help.

We just bought two of these strollers a few weeks ago for our Disney trip! We've only used them around the neighborhood and mall, but so far we love them! Yes, when unlocked, the front wheel does shake around if you start walking fast because all the weight is on the back wheels. My DH tightened down the lock nut on the front wheel and it seemed to help a lot. The other day we went for a walk and started walking faster and just flipped the little lever to lock the wheel during that portion of our walk.

My four year olds love the stroller too! They struggle to get in and out of our Graco DuoGlider and our triple stroller, but they can easily hop in and out of the Baby Trend.

Good luck in deciding!

PS - We just measured the stroller and it fits within the size guidelines on Disney's site.

If you take a jogger, make sure the front wheel pivots. Alot of joggers do not because its more stable for running if it doesn't. But at Disney, people cut you off and stop short in front of you alot and you need to be able to stear easily. Also, do the seats recline independantly of each other. Your younger child will probably sleep on the go more than your older one.

However, if you are looking for a stroller just for the trip, I'd go with the much cheaper Jeep double. The seats recline independantly which will be important with the age spread of your kids.

Sounds like it will be just what I'm looking for. I honestly loved it when my soon to be 4 yr old was able to navigate in and out independently. (darn that boy..wants to do things for himself lol) Thanks for the measurements, that saves me a little more stress! I found one on craigslist for $60 that is in almost new condtion..I think my mind is made up! The only thing is its on Long Island....I will have to see.

Yeah, I have heard about the importance of the front wheel swivel. Actually the guy that helped me at babies r us was awesome...knew all about the strollers...genuinely! I was happy to have met him, priceless experience actually! Yeah, the seats do recline independently on the Baby Trend. No front tray was the only negative, but a great compartment and 2 cup holders on the top! The Jeep is what I have now for the 4 yr old, but I wanted more then that for the trip. Thanks for your thought!

It does have a small mesh pocket next to each child which is good for your four year old! It's big enough to hold a sippy cup or small water bottle.
