I'm not so disappointed now - we wanted to go December 30th, so no loss (to us anyway)

Not a time of year I would book in advance, maybe on the day if the temps are good but it can be very cold at that time of year, even on good days it can take to mid AM to start warming, you would struggle to get a full days value out of DC. 1st year we went at Xmas/New year we were de-icing car every day brrrr.
